since the snow cruiser tires are long gone, what tire tread is close? the four snow cruisers on annie are in great shape, but the spare isn't a snow cruiser and is far from great shape. going to need to replace at least that one. help us pick a tire.

No one out your way has a decent Dunlop Snow Cruiser?

if you are looking to keep a similar profile but upgrade to a radial, these would be my choice. a 7.00x15 that has provisions for studs if needed

let me know if you would like to see pictures of them mounted on a '62 FJ40;)

Was the Dunlap Snow Cruiser stock by in 62? Thought those came later. But what do I know? I'm running some radials made by Dean Tire on a FJ25.:meh:

No they weren't stock in 62 that would have been the Dunlop RK3, I believe it ran until around 1969 when the snow cruiser took over. I have a 68 brochure still showing the RK3 as the stock tire.

Regardless I think Ige is just trying to match what she has already

yeah, trying to get something close to a match for my spare. snow cruisers are coveted, so rather just find a new tire tread close. may have to replace these some day too. ;)

There was an (1 only) original snow cruiser in the classified recently.

Ige. What pattern of snow cruiser are you after? I know of two different tread styles. Ten years ago I grabbed all the spares I could find and have enough for two complete sets, one in each pattern, I believe. I can't remember. I can take a look this weekend and see. If I have any extras or odd balls you're welcome to it. Are you headed to CM at all?

annies are a bit different, no long sections in the middle. i was all over that until :frown:
"Q

Can I take the tires without having them installed?
A No. Sorry.

The tires must be installed at our tire center.
We charge a very reasonable and competitive fee for installation.
Sorry if this is a deal breaker for you."
"Q

Do you ship your tires?
A No.

We used to ship our tires but there is just too much hassle, scam artists, and the cost is outrageous.
At some point we may change our policy, but as for now, we are out of the shipping business."

sent them an email anyways

That is unbelievable...especially when they have an add banner on their site saying free: Dismount, Balance, mount, disposal.

Makes no sense...

Ige, I have one pretty nice version of that style Snow Cruiser. I'd be happy to sell you both the tire and the wheel. I'm not sure I can get the tire off without damaging it. They've been together for so long now ya know... ;)

Nice Cruiser!

Ok. We just miss each other then. Thanks for the pic. I'll take a look at what I have.

I'll likely be going through the Denver area on the way down to or back from Moab. And I'll be in Calgary before then....
