whats a fj45 box worth??

so i have this spare fj45 box trailer and i had it in my head that i was going to put a 6 bolt axle under it, spring it over and pull it behind one of my 45's... now i have no idea what i want to do with it.. i am thinking of selling it but have no real idea what to ask or what is fair.... the box is actually in quite nice shape with the only dings being at the front.. the floor doesnt have a single dent in it and there is nothing more than just a few minor spots of surface rust that i am going to clean up before the snow flies here.. oh yeah, i could sell it with the super clean tailgate or without but probably to make it easier i would sell everything together being that i already have 3 other clean tailgates.. this was a blue box that was painted over at some point in the last 35 years..
i remember kevin from calgary making boxes but i never did get a price for one and i doubt he would make them for the same price again being that they were very labour intensive and stuff always goes up in price anyways.. that being said, i would love to get a headache rack for my other 45 sinse i cant seem to find a straight stock one..

Can't be worth more than $150 since it has been horribly corrupted by another color. I'll come up and take it off your hands so you no longer have to stress over it.



If it is in the shape you decribe, with tailgate I would say a low end would be at least 2k.

I would be interested if you decided to sell.

My truck is is excellent shape but for the box, which is not bad, definitely repairable, but if I could have a box that was in the same original condition as the cab, I would go for that first.

In your neck-of-the-woods, where rust is rampant, I would think a price closer to $2500-3000 for a 1978-era bed, with a tailgate, as you have described it in excellent condition--just my opinion, however.

More detailed photos would be in order to help justify such a fee.

i will take a few more pics here soon.. then maybe we can get a little better idea.. its hard to judge by one pic..
i found a 45 up in the bush a few years ago that had a great cab but the box was completely toast.. i tried to get ahold of him and he is not interested in selling at the moment unfortunately.. that truck was also green... i thought that would be cool to put a good box on a 45 that needs a box but that has fell through so far..

any idea what kevin was selling his boxes and tailgates for?? maybe thats a good place to base a price from???...

just a regular dude... he's not on mud nor does he post anywhere.. older guy.... he bought an fj45 for a project a while ago and does body work/metalwork for a hobby.. this was the last piece that he needed for his puzzle.. sounds like the box is off to a good home..
