But holy crap, they also have this!

That damn grill haunts my dreams. Saw it before I even had my 100 and ever since I've wanted it.

After looking at it for a bit, I'm nearly 100% convinced they've just taken a couple of 2003-2005 grills like this:

And modified it by cutting out the oval in the middle and adding a flat front to the three cross bars. Then paint, of course, and added this logo:

IOW, if I ever have some spare time after finishing work on my FJ40, I might play with this. The more I think about it, the easier this is...

I looked closer at this today- the base for the sombrero is molded into 3of the ribs and it sticks out past the grill. It would take some work to dremmel it flat, and separate it from the two ribs.

I thought about buying a cheap knock off replacement grill from CarId and playing around with it.

Yah, start wth two grills and simply cut the oval (sombrero) out completely, then use bit of the ribs from the second grill to fill in. Cover the fronts of the ribs, clean it all up and paint and you're done. They claim they're all custom, I'm betting that explains the insane cost, but anyone with time and patience could likely recreate that grill.

I considered trying it with my OEM grill but worried I'd hack it up and it look like poo.

i was thinking earlier today they cut these out and epoxied into a 100 grill. Then there is the difference in the 2006-7 grills. The center emblem area is huge, and it all transitions coming to a peak at the center of the sombrero. That would make if difficult for flat smooth ribs across the whole face of the grill. IDK.
the curvature of the 60 grill might be good for the 100 surround, if the slats themselves are long enough to span the distance.

Ok, I think it is the "genuine option Built-in ETC" as I can make out an 'ETC' on it in this photo, but ummm, what the heck is THAT?

No one knows what the ETC is?

@CruserDave I'm out at sea at the moment so I can't contact any buddies back on base at the hobby shop. Best bet is to pay them a visit and see what they have on hand. Also Yahoo auctions has a lot of jdm Cruiser goods.. Google can translate that site.
Understood @ExpoGeorgia, take care of yourselves out there and thank you for keeping us safe so our greatest worry is whether our sigO's will find out how much we really spend on our trucks ;)

ETC: Electronic Toll Collection

Quick check back if anything else has hit anyone's wish list? I am leaving soon...

Also, anyone know if you can visit/tour the factory our trucks came from???

I had this or something similar on my 03 Lx. I have since removed it. It was a memo recorder/Lexus link control. It was not active so I just took it out to be able to house a switch control plate.

Back from Japan and visiting FlexDream. Man do those guys have a LOT of nice cruisers!!!

(80 series get the round headlight treatment as well)

(yes, that is a 30th anniversary 70 series there, and it was gorgeous!!!)

I found a 100 with the front end we (some of us) have been jonesin' for, and "spoke" to their most english-literate guy for about half an hour about it:

The upshot is these headlight surrounds and grills are one-off FRP pieces and they are not interested in selling them stand-alone. I even asked about buying 10 or 20 from him, whether it would then be worth their time, and he laughed and said no. Actually, as we were using google translate on my phone, he said "no, you make in usa".

So there you go, I guess I have another to-do on my plate. <sigh>

Good news is he was open to me snapping all sorts of pics inside and this looks very doable. I can already see some sheet metal forming up in my head, and this becomes now a matter of bandwidth and development. That and some spare bits to hack up for fitting. If anyone has spare light fixtures or grill pieces please PM me and I'll offer you a discount on the finished product in exchange. No promise on timing here, I am eyeball deep in to-do's so no hurry, but if you have extra bits lying around please do contact me as I want to explore this ;)

I think if you remove the lens from a light and take the light bucket to get it digitally scanned you can closely create the mounting base for the round head light (or they could send you their CAD drawing and you pay them a royalty per pc for each one you make )

I have a brand new OEM grille and a very rare Lund aluminum Billet Grille insert both for a 2001 LX 470, if it can help in anyway to make a old style grille?

I have an OEM grille off my '00 LC if that would be helpful to you
