Not cheap at all. This is on my short list. Very impressed with the specs and the quality in material. How has it performed for you?

Flawless so far. I didnt' love the hook that came with it so I replaced with Factor55 hardware

Running the Ironman 12k Monster winch with synthetic line and factor55 lead. No complaints

Just FYI for folks.

Warn bought Factor 55.
Then Warn flared out that end loop at the end of the cable to the end of the new cables will no-longer fit the factor 55's.
There is a procedure to crimp or squash down the terminal look so it fits the factor 55 ends and it involved either hammer the flare back down or taking a press and pressing the end loop down so it is back like the earlier flares and fits the factor 55.
This procedure is on the factor 55 wed site.

Just so you are aware.

I complained to warn about this and they said .. well since it fits that crappy hook that came with the warn they are not responsible for this flare issue.

I'll look up the WARN rep. who told me this and post it.

WARN service just sucks now!

Great info. No sense in backing a company that has service issues. Ole run of companies happy to take our business

I’m curious about Ironman winches. I haven’t heard much about them. They seem pretty stout though. Have you used it much? Pros cons?
I've used it twice, no problems. Wireless controller is neat. Luckily I got in on the factor 55 about a month before the warn sale was announced.

Have you had any issues with the 9.5 regarding the weight of the LC?

I haven’t had to pull my 200 with the winch yet. The decision was based off my experience with winching my previous Cruisers and 4Runners. I like the 9.5XP line speed and weight savings compared to a 12k winch. I carry a line extension, snatch block, shackles and various straps to use with the 9.5XP to make a pull easier. If I was still doing a bunch of rock crawling where I might need to do a vertical straight line pull or mudding where I might need to pull myself from some deep nasty crap then I might consider a bigger winch. My offroad tastes have changed to the more moderate over time so I don’t feel like I’ll be in a position to need the bigger winch but do have the equipment and knowledge to supplement my current winch if I get into a bad situation.

I think part of the bad press factor is if a Chinese winch fails everyone expected it to happen. If a warn does the same…
Yep. The key to happiness is low expectation.

I installed a Warn Zeno Platinum 12-s last spring and used it for real a few weeks ago. The remote would not release the free spool for some reason and I had to motor the line out. Not a huge deal but pissed me off. It later worked fine when I went to figure out what was wrong. So I still don’t know what the deal was. Also, the remote’s battery drains itself when off and not in use. Which means it will be dead unless you remember to keep it charged. If that happens, you have to plug it in to a USB port for power. Not fatal but, would not make me happy. There is a mod to the remote that fixes this.

It did pull great and the wireless remote was great in that I could stay in the cab and steer while the spotter could run the winch and see everything while being in a safe location.

Not sad I went 12000 lb. the 200 is heavy. Really heavy. We had to strap the two rigs in front of me together and chalk their wheels. In our first attempt I just pulled the 80 I tied to down the hill.

I must have just got lucky. I bought my 12-s last April and the cable fit the F55 flat link just fine. Why in the world would Warn change that other than now maybe you have to buy a F55 premium line that has a higher markup for them.

WARN now has it under FAQ -- then "Why doesn't the end of my synthetic winch rope fit my factor 55"

Then it says

If you need additional assistance with this process, feel free to call us and we can talk you through the process 208-639-1674

You can pound it down with a hammer.

From what I was told .. the thousands of thimbles made in china incorrectly and warn is not doing anything about it.

I bought mine July and it was like this.

I own a COMEUP Seal Gen2 12.5 with a Factor 55 Ultrahook. Have used it a few times and hasn't let me down.

Recently took a Winch Recovery class and Recovery Skills classes at Overland Expo and learned a lot. Very informative. Lots of ways to recover and considerations before going to the winch.

Reviewed recovery points, different types of shackles, WLL, MBS, rope types, straps, snatch blocks etc. Lots of safety factors to consider. Had two instructors who really knew their stuff. I upgraded my recovery kit after attending those classes.

Has anybody who has a warn m12000 know if you can change it from cable to synthetic?
You can change any winch from Cable to Synthetic. If your cable winch has been used, make sure you file down any sharp burrs or damage that the cable did to the fairlead or the drum so that you don't damage your new synthetic rope. Also, synthetic line works better with a hawse style (not roller) fairlead. With Synthetic you can use an aluminum fairlead which can save a bit of weight.

Meh, i don't think the thimble thing was intentional. Just shyt qc.
That being said, warn taking f55 designs and building them in china to directly compete against f55 is scumbag.
I recently made mention of this in a product review on ebay...... They buried that shyt. Wont post it. So keep buying china guys.....

That is exactly what happened!

WARN special QC with the china made lines resulted in 1000's of them made wrong, and WARN not doing anything about it if you get one of these.

This might as well be an advertisement for the Badlands winch
