Hi All:

What size of gear puller is appropriate for working on a Land Cruiser?

Thanks!

Alan

The size you don't have.

(all of them)

Places like AutoZone have sets you can use for free, various sizes.

Gonna depend on the size gear your pulling I would suppose. I have a large, medium and small three jaw gear pullers, a set of bearing seperators (take bearing off shafts), and a few others that come in handy....

Old thread revival .. but guess it won't work open a new thread for the same topic.. altho I will try to make a better question ..

Which it's the type of puller you like...? 3 jaw ...

And if you have a " set " which one you have .?

I was in needed of a gear puller this weekend a cheap 3 jaw save my ass .. but would like to have a " set " decent quality ( OTC it's for me decent ) like this one ..

better options / recommendations out there .?

thanks !

I've used the OTC pullers a bunch. I have them in 3 sizes, bought them separately ie no kit. The Harbor Freight pullers suck, I've broken a few of them.

Mine are all the 3 Jaw style that you can make into a 2 jaw puller.

2-3 ton, a 5 ton, and then the big one is either 8 or 10 tons. I can't remember. It was whichever was on sale. I didn't realize that they made them in a lot of sizes, I've always seen them as S,M,L Pullers.
