What paint are you guys using on the undercarriage, Axles etc.
I am rebuilding my axles and need a durable black paint to make them look good. I live in Colorado so we don't salt, but they do put down the de-icer stuff.
Any recomendations?
Thanks.

POR-15 a little on the spendy side but you will NEVER have to do it agian, or even think about it! And DO wear gloves! A friend of mine ended up looking like a Dalmatian! Search POR-15 or check out POR15.com

Por-15 is what I will be using eventually.
I have heard to keep it away from your hootus.

When I first got my rig I just painted it with semi gloss rustolem and it worked just fine. After I spent many hours of degreasing the under carriage of course.

Eastwood company http://www.eastwoodco.com/ sells Rust Encapsulator (formerly Corroless) and Chassis black. I used these on my frame off resto 6 years ago and it still looks great. The chassis black is a high solids aerosol and is the best spray can paint I've ever used. You'll use up all the paint before you use up the air.

Good luck

I've been using Rustoleum High performance Enamel Flat black. chrome can at Home Depot -

Dang, that axle is clean. Mine's a greasy mess. I'd like to do that POR-15, but it sounds like a lotta work. Maybe I'll do the Rustoleum like you've done.

I think that I'm gonna go for the POR 15. That stuff looks pretty awesome and it seems like a good product. Any idea how much POR 15 I would probably need for 2 axles, 4 spring packs and various steering parts? I figure that a quart would do the job, right?
I've done the rustoleum way befor and it just didn't seem to hold up in the long run. Or maybe I just didn't prep very well.

The only issue I see with POR-15, and I've used it too, is it dries really hard... like a candy shell. It is difficult to topcoat if your thinking of touch-ups and all. it is a great product, but I've found Zero Rust a little easier to work with.
