Please please post up what milage you get out of your 2F. and generally what setup you have (gears, tires, mods). I am asking this because I just did mine and I think my numbers are a big off. Thanks

11-14 depending on what kind of driving I'm doing.

Currently 2F, Aisin carb, headers and 3:73 diffs with 31s. Set up right now for the on-road config, but when I had the off-road setup with 4:11s in with 33's and a Weber 38 DGAS, 10-12 maybe.

Wouldn't you get a better highway gear and possibily better mileage running the 3:73's and 33's.

Yeah it would, I'm just a victim of circumstance. The 31s were the tires that were originally on the truck prior to the 33s, but my 33's wore out and I haven't gotten around to replacing them yet. Still got a ton of meat left in the 31s and have other projects to spend money on before I get some new rubber:meh:

Not necessarily. You may be out of the "mileage band" with that much gear on a 2f. You're going to get your best mileage around 50 or 55mph too, maybe less.

I've gotten 12 running around in the mountains, but I only get about 10 on the freeway at 70mph; CA-smog-passing 2f, 4.11s and 33s.

Consistent 16 MPG when traveling 35-45 MPH and it goes down to or below ~12 at highway speeds or on the trail.

285/75-16 on 4 in lift
Desmogged 2F
The rest is stock.

Stock 2F, 3.73's, 2.5" lift, 33" BFG AT's, and a light foot--I consistently get ~17 mpg at a steady 55 mph, sometimes as much as 18. In town it's more like 12 mpg.

7 - 15 Depending

2F De-smogged, Pertronix ignition, Jim C-rebuilt carb.
4.56 diffs, 33s

Lo Hi Avg
Trail 5 8 7
In-town 10 12 11 (stop & go)
Highway 14 16 15 (65-70 mph)

I guess I need to go back to math class. My numbers were way off. I compared my speedo with a buddy's truck. When my speedo reads 50, his reads 55. His truck is stock. So should I add 10% onto my miles traveled when I divide by the gallons consumed? It was suggested to use a GPS... fill up until the first click on the pump, go 10 miles, turn around, back to same station, fill up with same pump until the first click. Then do the math.

10 miles won't get you a fair reading. Average it out over a couple of tanks to cover all of your driving habits.

11 - 12 mpg, stock 2F with webber, 31's and stock gearing.

1976 Fj40, 1981 2F out of a 60 series.

stock carb, hardtop on, 4.11's and 33x12.5. only me in the car, highway mileage is 9mpg, around town is 7mpg.

and people wonder how i can daily drive a 1985 RX-7
