Can't find any information identifying what type (or manufacturer) of limited slip in the rear diff?

Is it a standard friction material type L/S or a gear type (Torsen)?

Eventually, mine will get a locker, but I was curious what is in there now and why there seems to be no information about them that I can find.

Thanks,

Flint.

I would like to know more about mine as well!

You are right, not a lot of info on these.

As best as I can tell, not all '99 LX came with LSD.

How many miles are on yours? Does it grip well?

Mine works....but obviously not like a 'locker'. 186K on mine.

Pretty sure all LX's before ATRAC came with a LSD. Land Cruisers of the same years (98-99) had an 'optional' locking rear diff.

Everything went to ATRAC after that IIRC.

Mine has an LSD aswell, I believe it's the friction type

Wonder if its rebuild-able then (or modded for better performance)? I've found zero information on them.
