So my 75 FJ55 pig has no keys and I have to get some made. What are the right key blanks to use? My 76 FJ40 key will fit into the ignition but not the door. Anybody have any idea? My Toyota dealer has the cylinder code and can make keys but he is having a hard time figuring out what key or keys to use.

Sorry about the cross post.

okay this is all screwed up

So for a 74 they are
T61C and the door is T61F

The only reply I got for a 75

K1590 which doesn't cross over to anything

And for a 77

Ignition: Don't know the maker, but #s on it are, TR33/X137/TOY27R

Door: Taylor T80V, "fits Toyota/Luv"

So my dealer says it is a TR27 which doesn't make any sense. Cannot even find a pic of TR27 or refrerence to it.

Anybody ? Help.

This is what my keys say that are sitting right here on my desk that I used to get to work today. They are ilco numbers though. I think the original toy keys are at home. I will see if there is any info on them. These are for a 12/74 truck which is pretty close to a 75. The T61c is the iginition and t61f is doors. I think I have a set of keys laying around for my now gone 78, I remember them looking the same. I will check.

My truck is 12/74 also. Wow. Wonder how far apart they are. But mine is registered as a 75.

Yea, mine might be registered as a 75 also. I remember trying to convince it was a 74 which was smog exempt at the time and a 75 was not. It took me 6 months of extensions to register the thing. When I bought the truck, all of the smog stuff had been removed and it was going to cost $$$$$ to get it "repaired". I was able to hold out for the rollover when 75 and older became exempt to register it.:grinpimp:

Mine is 46688. I wonder how close in production they were? How is the key search going?

73
ignition "axxess+" part number 30
doors "ilco" part number t61f

It was a TR33 for the ignition and a TR27 for the doors. Ignition was easy but the door keys were a different story. Ended up getting an old locksmith who had some keys from his fathers business go out to the vehicle and make new keys. They fit perfect. Just amazes me what they can do. Anyway I now have all the right keys and everything works.

Thanks for everyones help.

Marshall, who was it that you got those from? Please e-mail me as soon as possible b/c, although fortunate to have all of my original door and ignition keys (2 sets), I still have to use bent ones. The PO bent them trying to get in and out, when all he had to do was slap some oil or silicone in the holes. Anyway, e-mail me when you can at dsa03cjj@gmail.com ...I'll also try your e-mail b/c i'm pretty desperate for these things right now.

Thanks

Thanks! I just ordered some key blanks from Key Blanks for Toyota but if those don't work out, then i'll try Key Men. Thanks for your help!

:hillbilly:AS A locksmith, I fully agree about getting a key cut by code..

Only problem for most people is that no one knows what the "key code" is.

OF course if your truck was re-keyed then the code does you no good. ( it happns alot ).

Also Ilco is a key blank Mfg (in case there are some out there who don't know that) and you might have a hard time trying to cross reference the number. If anyone need help PM me and I will see what I can do to help..

The key blank for our '76 is a Dominion Lock Co. TA15 for the doors. When I had some cut last year the locksmith was happy to use some of those blanks. Apparently they are no longer available and no longer used.

If you have a good locksmith they can cut the key to compensate a little for wear.

I keep my best key as a master and cut keys to use from my best key but I NEVER use the best key to drive or open doors.
