I'm finally looking to get a jack and jack stands for my trucks. The Torin 6 ton jacks seem pretty decent from amazon but I'm striking out on finding a decent jack.

What do you use and where did you get it?

I've had a Torin 3 ton jack for at least 10 years now. It's heavy as hell, and nothing fancy, but it's taken a beating and still works fine.

My only problem is sometimes it doesn't go high enough (depends on the jack point on vehicle), so I have to use a block of wood on the jack pad to get the vehicle where I want it.

Recently purchased the Harbor Freight 3 Ton Heavy Duty (not low profile) version and it has been great. Was a little dry for hydraulic fluid but that was something I researched and knew about beforehand. Also have a set of HF 6ton jack stands and 3ton jack stands... All were purchased with their sales (Jack was $77, stands were like $40 and $30).

Im finding myself using the factory jack and a jack adapter more and more.
For Jack stands you want something that will go 24" for support under the frame when changing rear springs or the likes.

I added a Banner 3.5 ton (B6350) and 4 Torin 6 ton (T46002A) to the garage, about a year or so ago.

No complaints so far...

Is that adapter something you made? Where can I get one of those? I have the little cup thing that lets the jack fit into that hole in the middle of the crossmember, but that's it.

Look in my sig for a link;)

Phil may or may not be using this company's stuff, but it appears similar to:

Bottle Jack Recovery Kit Without 6 Ton Bottle Jack

Similiar but our fit is much more secure and sized for your LC model.

We tested the above and found it WILL NOT fit under a LC axle when the tire is flat:rolleyes:

A factory Toyota jack is one of the best jacks because of it reliablility and ability to work in any position.

A factory jack can change any tire sized tire you can fit on your LC

Several LC enthusiast attempted to dislodge the our adapter (pictured 100 series above) when lifted without success.

I just bought Harbor Freight 3T low profile in the past 2 months. No complain so far.

Harbor Freight 6T jack stands, first bought due to their height, 20"+ no worries, but after 10 years, have never had an issue. Just bought another set recently to have 4. Great for holding up any vehicle and doing everything from the ground.

Just got harbor freight 6 tonne.. The height is awesome. No need for wood blocks. 20% off black Fri deals, price was $30 . great deal great quality

Generic 3-tone Asian Jack...15 years old, at least. Phil's jack adapter drops conveniently into the jack where the round pad normally sits and it fits the axle perfectly. A well made tool for $30-ish. 2 HF 6 ton jack stands. An assortment of 2 to 4 ton jack stands.

It may have been mentioned but when jacks stands state 3,4,6 ton rating, it's referring to the rating for two stands rather than one. Suggest 6 ton stands giving 3 tons. for each one. Jacks should be rated at 3 tons plus. Always use proper jack stands and use an adequately rated jack as a backup when working under a vehicle. Don't push the limits and buy quality equipment.

4-blue and yellow are Lincoln 6 ton, wide base.
2-red and white-6 ton
2-yellow and white-5 ton
3-grey and black are 3 ton
2-red are 3 ton

Adjustable jacks, blue and red are scaffold jacks with lift pads adapted.
