Working on pulling the original engine and trany for a 3b swap.

Finally got around to adjusting my valve clearances, and now Dora is purring like a kitten instead of rattling like a jar of coins

I changed the oil, I turned a pair of ammo cans into speaker boxes for a pair of 5 1/4 speakers, I installed a couple of new lights to illuminate the dash, I installed a Streamlight Strion LED HP flashlight with charger & I installed a new weather proof 12V socket. I also placed an order with Cruiser Corps & TPI.

Used it to recover a neighbor's John Deere tractor from creek bottom.

finished welding up my sliders on the 40

Found an ABV and cleaned it for installation.
Also located a complete intake/exhaust manifold, now I just need to locate a smog pump and air rail

Got the sliders all welded and ready for POR15 and pulled the transfer case cone to discover the nut had not been staked and driven off the out put shaft.

Luckily no damage to the shaft, jut need a nut. I welded the cone back together where it had been driven apart.

I also completed the body work on the doors and the body on the frame off so I am ready for primer if the humidy drops.

Found another use for tree branches clear way- Fishing rod holders..
Took the 40 for a day to the lake
Got a free Dell 610 so now i can play with the Garmin 376C and made trails tracks and add waypoints,etc etc

Got the 2F from the 83' fJ60 and the 4 speed tranny from the 76' FJ40 stuffed into the 71' FJ40

Wondering if you would be willing to cut the area around were the factory radio sits? I would like to fix my dash from the PO who cut it up to fit 4 gauges. I will pay. Thx, Ron

Hauled it away to be recycled.

Doing more body work. Rebuilt area around the passenger side kick vent now finishing cutting rust out around the cowl and windshield frame. Just no parts available here unless they look worse than what I am working on lol! Skim coating bondo after cutting and welding just to smooth out. PO had pure bondo on these areas up to 1/2"

I finally adjusted the passenger side outside door handle so it actually opens the door. No more reaching from the driver's side to open the door

Fyi-I bought a repro handle from sor. It was cheap, but the chrome is already starting to pit and the spring is starting to rust. Was I supposed to treat it with something before I installed it?
