This is my favorite rig on this board....LOVE that color and the ride height

A guy in CA bought an ICON and decided he wanted jump seats, my buddy bought the seat for an unknown price along with some other stuff, his project is on hold, so I swapped him a Cannondale Mnt. bike for it. so I don't know a price....the bike was used about 4 times and new was $1000 but sat in my garage for 5 years......I would have paid $400 or $500 for the seat.....it's probably worth morth since 99% of them are bolted to an $80k rig not a $5k rig!!!!!

Lucky. Very lucky.

I broke a few bolts, cussed a few times, but got the front bumper and bumpettes off the cruiser. They will be media blasted and then rattle canned along with the rollbar I acquired.

Also took out the long jump seats and mocked up the rollbar install. Now, just waiting on my carb to arrive today from Jim C.

Wheeled it at Tall Corn Cruisers Classic this weekend!!!

Found ourselves in a position to test the Smittybuilt XRC8 winch. To boldly go where no vehicle has been. Yeah, not a road......

just a little trail ride that turned into an adventure

ok myquestoyota I need some follow up pictures to this picture. I am waiting for the rest of the story.

Well, after dinner Friday night I was going to show my :princess: the trail that I had blazed with our son-in-laws a couple of weeks earlier. Just a short drive from home in the grass down by the creek. Well, I turned off the main road a little early, mistook some grass laid down by deer for my tire tracks. Ended up going over a 15 foot vertical bank down to a drainage creek. I was very fortunate to realize quickly to straighten out because it was almost a rollover. :princess: took it in stride and we walked home in the dark, vowing to return in the morning for an extraction. After three different winch pulls and some more near rollover incidents because of the steepness and rough terrain, it used to be a beaver pond, we managed to get her out. The final pull can be seen on youtube under bandmillguy Extraction 8-27-11. The video does it no justice because of the angle, it looks like I'm going over a curb.

Yes, my Springer Spaniel was there helping in any way that he could. He's particularly useful at removing all of the burrs from the bushes so they don't hamper my travel.

I received my 79 air cleaner housing today.
The great deal I found on E-Bay has had the intake cut off with a saws all, I didn't notice it in the photos.
This attempt at rebuilding the smog system is giving me a headache :bang:

Got some motivation from Rudi (bj40green) to get some of my electrical systems back on track, so I chased down some light bulbs for my brake warning light and fasten seat belts warning lights, got them both working. But my brake warning light likes to stay on, looks like some adjustment is needed to the handbrake switch.

Also, yesterday I had to teach the local Toyota guy (a new one) that parts really are still available for a '77 Land Cruiser. I had to order the spring that holds the disc brake pads apart, as one of mine was mangled (as one of mine was last week on my 2000 Tundra...:hhmm:). Got that installed tonight as well.

Last week I updated my power steering to shift from a narrow, 15mm wide belt to a Volvo 240 pulley (pressed onto a 3/4" Saginaw pump shaft) that will accept 17mm or maybe even 22mm wide belts. Was only able to find a 17mm wide belt so far, but even with just that my p/s belt squeaking has gone away. I also happened to wrap that belt around my newly installed on-board-air compressor :hhmm:, so have to wire and plumb that up so I can actually use it. :wrench:

Started to put the body back together on it. Getting ready for exhaust this weekend

Fabbed up a mount for my ARB compressor from some scrap I had taking up space on my bench. Not 100% sure this is the best location for the compressor but time will tell I guess.

Had the interior done with LineX ... tired up the upkeep of the painted surface. This new stuff is bulletproof. Have to get the roll bar powder coated next. New bolts and parts going back in this weekend.

The second photo is a BJ42 which is currently stripped ready for a new lease of life. The colour will change to a metallic graphite, what do you think?
