Nice, looks like you will be spending some time on Expedition portal and Steel Soldiers! I want to build 1 up real bad myself. Cant wait to see how it turns out.

Does anyone know if the cross member that holds the spare tire carrier is needed once spare is removed? The frame is boxed in with the tow bar so does not look like it is needed. Wanting to mount my air tank there

It is too flimsy to serve any structural purpose. My understanding was that it is just for the spare tire support.

That's going to be sweet. I am hoping to do a long range auxiliary tank, myself.

Had to replace one of the TJM headlight washers. It was slow leaking out of the nozzles. Bought a 5 pack, hopefully its not a repeat issue.

How did your new parking sensors work out? Functioning now?

I got them mounted. The passenger is working perfectly, the drivers has an intermittent ghost that I need to track down. It is almost like the sensor is not protruding forward enough and is catching the edge of the bezel. Might swap it out.

Did you get your working?

No, they've been on the back burner.

I bought my rig new in 2013, went to hook up a trailer about month later and no plug, brought it back to Toyota and they told me that they add those at the port when they come in and sometimes they forget to put them on. They ordered and slapped it on mine, seemed a bit weird, they sometimes forget:)

Same thing happened with my dads 08 200 LC. They failed to install it at the port. It is my understanding that the plug is standard equipment. The dealer installed a factory plug on his at no charge.

I went to hook up a trailer to on one of my 200s tonight for the first time and discovered the same thing has happened to me, mine is missing its plug as well.
I bought mine used, but i am not letting that stop me from at least hitting my Toyota dealer up for one at no charge. That Toyota port must fail to get these things installed quite often. Between my Dad's , brother's and mine , we have owned 6 of these 200s and now 2 of the 6 were found to be missing there trailer plugs.

As far as I'm aware, the towing plug/harness and ball mount hitch come in the back of the vehicle in a box, and it is up to the dealer/owner to install them.
That's my experience as well. My plug and hitch were in a box in the back and I installed them myself. It's pretty straight-forward to install. The hardest part was finding the correct mounting bolts, which were not a part of the plug kit. It's also one of the oddest locations for the plug I've ever seen.

I agree on the location. I don't understand why it isn't tucked up and protected better. I shattered mine and bent the mount on a rock the other day. Took a chunk out of the spare wheel as well.

removable jerry can holder / AKA bitch basket - if you are mean you ride in there...no questions asked.
If you notice this design bolts on so you can take if off when not in use. And yes - those bolt holes have been sleeved.

The bumper is at the powder coater today, so I may get lucky and be bolting this thing on my rig by tomorrow, however I'm thinking Monday.

Man, I can't wait to see that thing when it is complete!!!!! You said the shop made templates, so it is repeatable right????

yes sir....James (the guy) can repeat this at will.

If anyone wants a brand new OE tow harness for a 200, just PM me. I'll sell it cheaper than you can buy from any dealer.

did you give up on it? Are you going to a trailer and Hitch place to have them wire it up?

No, but I ended up wiring my bumper directly to the OE harness from the taillights.

Thanks for the link. I ordered that trailer wire harness and some MIA roof moldings from them.

Also to follow up my earlier post about these LC200s missing these harnesses, my local dealer had a heck of time even finding a part number then had me call the complaint into Toyota to see if they would offer any assistance since I bought it used and not from the local dealer.

Toyota customer service said that it was not a standard part, and that it is not a port installed part, but they were in the end nice enough to offer me a one time 200.00 reimbursement if I want to go ahead and order the part and have it installed then fax them the invoice, and they would pay me back, up to 200.00.

So then I called the local dealer back and the part was going to cost me 233.00 to buy it from them, that was once they finally figured out the part number after having to insist that the part did in fact exist, and having to get a firm with them that they were the Toyota dealer for this area they should be able to find the part. It was the same part number everyone here had posted the number for , and the same one I could order from Camelback in Atwlz link for 130 bucks.

So I order the part form Camelback Toyota and the local dealer will install for 68.00 when I get it. Then Toyota is going to reimburse me for it all.

All and all a big hassle but I am getting it done at no charge. I still do not know why 4 of the 6 200s we have owned had them and 2 didn't. It was not listed on any of the widow stickers one way or the other as many others have said, it suppose to come on them. Seems some get them some don't. Still would like to know for sure what the deal is.
