When you have the 35's mounted you'll need to leave your beauty rings on. I did the opposite as I thought they'd (tire installer / mounting machine) would scratch my ring during installation. There's a rim protector lip on those tires and won't allow the torx bolts to thread up. It holds the ring off to far for the bolts that hold the beauty ring on to even tough the wheel. I had the tire shop break the bead on one side and mount my rings. Trying to save you a step if you haven't thought about it already.THanks Willy

You are probably on the money with that answer. However, Toyota doesn't seem to see the allure of 35's. So, " it's puts the ring on the wheel before the tire".That's probably one reason why Toyota specify the BFG tires:

The Rim Protector on the BFG's fits nicely outside the valve stem protector ring.

I called Slee and asking how they approached this and was told the ring and wheel are the same size so install the tire after the wheel / ring and secured to each other. Now, its possible there could be a slight leak with this certain wheel / tire combo, only time will tell. So far everything is hold pressure. If the rings are preventing the tire bead from fully seating, there is a possibility you can have air loss issues, especially when aired down.
You're correct. The rim protector lip was protruding over the lip of the wheel (as designed) prior to the ring being secured in place. Now its snug and looks to be correct.I was thinking the same thing, so I went outside and took a look at mine.
The outside edge of the ring is the same diameter as the outside shoulder of the wheel, so seating issues should not be a problem.
What I think was happening with Willy's wheel was that the rubber lip was pushing (bending ever so slightly) just past the lip of the wheel, and was blocking the ring from seating. If you put the tire on with the ring already installed (making sure to use a bit of tire installing lube), it should be fine.
But due to the design, if you take the ring off with the tire installed, you will have one hell of a time trying to get it back on.
Ordered my sliders from White knuckle offroad. Should take about a month
