That's wild it's such a vastly different shipping experience!
Decent chance they tapped out the US supply of bubble wrap based on my and other’s radiators.

Flexus wants a new drivers side mirror folding mechanism, aka retractor. A year after she got a new passenger side mirror folding mechanism. Both have taken wear and tear from towing mirrors and whacking chaparral off-roading. Pay to play and with maintenance, she's a good as ever.

It's about a 2hr operation. Maybe a bit longer as it takes some figuring out and pinning connectors. At least Lexus sells the internal retractor mechanism that comes with full new harness, rather the price of a whole new mirror assembly.

Replaced the steering wheel with one from a Japanese spec LS460 (pretty sure this was from some special edition or something). Ended up being way more work fitting some of the plastics just due to the particular version of the wheel I bought. I believe it was because this version of the LS wheel came with paddle shifters so the internal frame was a bit different. That being said, this is now so much better than the original wood wheel in my opinion. Now to deal with the rest of the wood in the cabin somehow.

To note: the LX wheel is not the same shape as the LC wheel and as far as I could find there are zero aftermarket wheel wraps for the LX.

Just got the car back from the shop. New meats, rims, fresh fluid changes, and an AHC overhaul in new rear shocks and new accumulators.

L mode, love the tucked look. Tight turns aren’t very friendly, but the tire does clear the fender. Would be hesitant to go over a speed bump like this.

N- daily height. Rides great, taller and more comfortable now.

H- to the moon! The wife’s first time getting in after I parked in it H mode “what the heck dude, this thing is massive”… she got the memo.

All in all the car is great! Couple small touch ups to do, but falling in love with it more every day!

I'm a big fan of the MoonShade awning. For the past few years, I've left my Rhino Batwing Awning at home on trips and take the regular MoonShade instead. Purchased the new XL Model over a year ago and never took out of the bag until today while decluttering the garage.

It's massive. Had to connect to truck using the short side and still a little too long to mount on roof rack. Had a SeaSucker vacuum mount lying around and put on windshield to keep that corner from flying around. Had some fairly strong wind gusts today and everything stayed put after anchoring down the two poles with guidelines. Good driveway test before the next adventure.

Does this mount and store to your roof rack or is it store like a tent in a bag?

They store in a bag. Flexible mounting options. I’ve been using the regular size for a few years. Doesn’t take up much space. The XL packs down nice too.

Not so much ‘this week’ as ‘since I last messed with the forum’, but paid her off, hit 100k, and traded my rarely used dirt bike for a RTT since I’m too lazy to build a treehouse.

Edit: Forgot I threw on some Nokian Outpost nATs to replace the miserable E-rated KO2s I had been running. Wish I would have done that about 50k miles ago. What a difference in handling, comfort, and fuel economy.

Count me in.
It's official: I've gone over to the dark side as 0W-30 went in today @33838 mi.💀
There was no appreciable change in engine sound, or oil pressure readings.
The oil pressure readings with 0W-20 and 0W-30 at idle (approx 700 rpm) and 2000 RPM were about the same. 🤷‍♂️

Interesting. Does pressure build quicker? I noticed a slight increase at idol but it builds quicker and stays higher.

I’ve got a frankenblend of 2.5w30 in mine currently. I noticed today the oil pressure was appreciably higher than using any 0w”20” I had previously. I’m wondering if there’s a specific cSt the oil pressure dial responds to and where it is. As I type, I think it’s close to the blend I’m currently running. Without analysis, I don’t know what exact cSt that is.

Hmmmmmm it might have been faster but not totally sure. I was looking to confirm what others had said about pressures. So I just looked at the pressure gauge at the 2 RPM's mentioned before and after. I didn't think to observe how fast the pressure readings changed. That might have been a difficult observation to quantify without video.

I did that a year ago with one oil change when I thought I had enough 0W-20 for the LC but was shockingly 1 quart short. So I substituted 1 quart 5W-30 which is what's used in our Avalon. It was 7qts 0w-20 and 1 qt 5W-30 for about 5000mi. . YIKES!!! Luckily, the truck still runs.

Your 0.625W20.8 blend could’ve blown your engine!!!!!
