I think the US regulation has height and impact speed requirements but no requirement that it protrude from the vehicle. Some other manufacturers are doing this already. Range Rover Sport and the Discovery off the top of my head...

Got it, thanks! So when I get rear end tapped on the highway, will need a new liftgate :(

Today, I washed my tires.

Miles 267,750

No photos, but today did:

  1. Drain and fill transmission
  2. new transfer case fluid
  3. new front and diff fluid
  4. new brake fluid
  5. new steering fluid
  6. turned off DRL
Only thing couldnt figure out is how to open all door locks by touching driver door only.

How did you turn off DRL?

I have my Baja designs hooked to high beam signal so anytime my DRL are on it’s blinding people.

So I leave the headlights/ fog lights on 100% of the time.

I don’t like the all door unlock and disable it on any car driven by my wife. Too easy for someone to follow a person in parking lot or public garage and get in while they are distracted. Just my 2 cents.

I understand that. My wife has single on her car.

On my LC I have 6-7 people all the time. It is annoying to hold rear handle to open all doors

I need to get it done for my use case

On my 2013 LX the option is in the settings menu… I think…. I can confirm if you aren’t able to find it there.

I’m not sure how similar the LX menu is, but it seems like it would be not too dissimilar

My MetalTech sliders showed up while I was out of town this week, so I installed the first side last night. No real difficulties, other than my early 08 frame was missing the holes you have to drill out to install the nutserts, so I had to drill from scratch. They seem very stout and make a much better step for accessing the roof box than I expected. I’m hoping to get the other side done tonight.

I do get that, the rear handle grab is my go to. On my 2013 LC it is only available to change this option with Techstream which is easy enough to access with the right cable/dongle
