Wow, I am being reminded of why I don't like car forums... So much to say on such a boring topic. I figured I'd be getting ripped for the alcohol and no PPE in my pictures around grinding, spray paint, and other organic vapors. To each their own, I guess.

For s***s and gigs, here are some "heavy lifting" related pictures from where I work. Picture 1 is a hydraulic shovel during a swing bearing replacement. The "House" is being lifted by screw jacks that double as the jack stand when depressurized via the screw being jammed. The lift is ~160,000lb, or 80k tons. We have done this job 3x in the past 2 years without incident.... although we can experience catastrophic failure of one of the four jacks and still maintain the lift.

At the other end of the spectrum is picture 2; the cert placard on an i-beam trolley we routinely use to pick 1500lb pumps or motors, without incident. Yes, that is 75% of rated capacity.

With your math skills, I wouldn’t be caught dead (or maybe I would) near one of your lifts. 160,000lbs is 80 tons, not 80k tons. 😂😂😂

J/K...all in good fun.

Been recovering from a hernia repair surgery so sticking to the "light" mods for now.

Finally installed the Slee sunglass holder mount for my SwitchPro controller.
Added labels to two bottom right switches for my new Baja Designs LP6's. Didn't get the lights mounted on the front Rhino bumper yet. Wasn't satisfied with the BD wiring harness relay behavior while connected to SwitchPros. It worked but on low, the relay was making some noise. One will control low beams and the other is for high beams. Will speak to BD support this week, I'm sure it's any easy fix and mod to the wiring harness.

Installed my RAM mount for iPad and the air bladder thing that wedges between the seat. Seems solid. When iPad not installed, serves as a good Covid mask holder.
Added a dash cover as my LC sits outdoors. The velcro adhesive backing didn't stick to the dash very well since I cleaned it a few weeks ago with 303 Aerospace Protectant. The directions do say to wipe down with alcohol solution to get any residue off before applying. Oh well, will do another day.
Added those cupholder inserts. Noticed they rattle some and one stuck to my Yeti Rambler mug when I pull it out. Added some 3M velcro under the cupholders so should solve that problem.

The biggest thing I did this weekend was pass my HAM radio technician exam today!

My Yaesu 400XDR arrived this past week. I wanted to get it installed but not happening yet. I'm planning to mount under a drawer wing, ran a spare 8 GA power cable to rear last year. However to get to it, I need to remove my drawers and pop that back right panel with the AC outlet and that ain't happening until I get clearance from the doctor. Following what @Markuson @Hants @Romer and @BIC JET did with their radio installs. Realized that the microphone cable is way too short to run from rear to dash. Ordered an extension today. I also have the Yaesu external speaker (labeled vertex) but didn't realize how big it is. Not sure where to install it or if I ever need it. Also contemplating the SwapMyRig thing SWAPMYRIGS WITH 15’ Cable | SWAPMYRIGS - https://www.swapmyrigs.com/product-page/swapmyrigs-kit-with-15-vga-for-icom-kenwood-and-yaesu-radios

and just run one VGA cable instead of 3 cables. Not sure if I'll have any issues getting big VGA ends routed from rear drawers to dash. Anyway, excited to use it at LCDC with the APRS feature.

Regarding the speaker for the Yaesu... From your photo, it appears that the male plug to that speaker has only two connectors.
**To hear both channels’ audio, you will need a speaker that has a three-contact male plug—like you see on a stereo headphone plug. With just two, the second radio frequency monitor with not properly receive audio from the jack.

Its an odd quirk that is counterintuitive...since its just one speaker (not stereo) but the way the 400XDR feeds audio via the jack, it needs the three-contact male plug (two black stripes separating the three contacts on the plug, rather than one stripe separating just two contacts).

If you were to plug in stereo headphones, you’d hear one frequency monitor on one ear and the other frequency monitor on the other ear...but with just the one external speaker...it needs both to produce both.

You miiiiggt get a super faint audio on the second via that plug...but for full sound, have a look at Yaesu’s own speaker or similar.

I have my LC’s engine bay and understand cleaned by the folks at @yeti_blasting (dry ice under pressure), took a 6 hour cruise to and fro Lake Michigan, and then this morning wondered by my 4LO and check engine lights are on. Hmmmm

High centered yesterday while going up a hill in the 2021 Blizzard here in Denver. Snow was so thick that the front skid plate compressed the snow and lifted front tires off ground. Couldn't get out. Luckily a 100 series ambled by and pulled me out. Wish I would have taken pictures....

So we should keep an eye out on the 100 series forum for photos and gloating? ;) At least it wasn't a Jeep that helped you out or there would probably be photos circulating across every overland and off-road forum on the interwebs. Glad you made it out safely.

If you tend to drive where there are anchor points around (Trees etc) you could consider Bog outs. They're not fast to set up, but can pull forward or backward, and likely would have helped with this.

Absolutely. I could have winched myself out but nearest anchor was across the road from where I was and would have been across the oncoming traffic lane. On a downhill with that much snow, I don't think they could have stopped in time to avoid my winch line. The 100 owner was a great guy about it. He also had a 200 series LX with summer tires on it. He made sure to remind me that the "old 100" pulled out the lifted 200. Fun times. I bought him a nice bottle of scotch.

And I had just pulled off my maxtrax..... :bang: Really should have taken pictures but the wind was blowing about 40mph and I was really needing to get off this hill with wife and kids in the car.

100% driver error though. I moved over for an oncoming car and nicked the corner of a snowdrift. As soon as I did that, it sucked me right in.

I have been working on installing a TJM T13 bumper. Getting close to getting it all buttoned up.

When completing the install, where did you splice into the turn signals? I was looking to get mine working, as it came to me unwired but have not found a good spot without having to go all the way back to the actual turn signals but noticed that the harness is closer... just do not know exactly which wires to splice into.

I used the TJM harness for the T13 and LC200

TJM - Harness for T13 Outback Bumper - Slee Off Road - https://sleeoffroad.com/products/tjm037/

It looks like it is out of stock again at Slee. This just hooks into the factory harness on each side at the head lights. Not sure which wires you would need to tap into without it. You might try calling the US distributer for TJM and see if he has one in stock. He is in El Cajon CA.

Could also make an adaptor following this circuit, depending on how DIY you want to get. (Stolen from Why Not Wye? - https://www.ranecommercial.com/legacy/note109.html)

Got on the CAT scale today. Feel like I should have skipped breakfast.
