Ran Black Gap Road, Big Bend National Park, southbound. Apologies for the dizzying camera work. That's what you get when your film crew/co-pilot is 12 years old.

What's interesting is that this is a Jeep rated trail that allows one to earn a badge for completing. No problem for a Cruiser.

Love seeing some Big Bend--I ran Black Gap northbound a couple years ago so I could go down the step. I agree that it's a pretty mild trail for the way some people talk about it

Today, I took delivery of a silver with terra leather 2021 LC built in Dec 2020. I test drove it yesterday and it had 15 miles on odometer.

Installed white knuckle Offroad sliders. I'm Ready for some extreme rock crawling! I really wanted the slee LX steps, those things are beautiful! However with a Black Friday deal these were half the price of the Slee(including shipping from CO cost) and close enough to pickup and avoid shipping cost. I couldn't pass them up. Excellent fit and product. Stock steps are for sale in the classified section.

Glad you posted this. Back-bone has been in the box for a while now and need to do this tomorrow (weather permitting). What kind of clearance do you have on the shark fin?

the shark fin does sit above the highest point of the rhino rack backbone supports so a crossbar mounted from left to right in that exact spot would contact. If you have the rhino rack platform which is front to back the antenna would sit in an opening between the slats so no rubbing. Going custom always has its risks but luckily this setup put the left to right front runner crossbar just a few inches in front of the antenna and gives me enough clearance that anything mounted on top of the bars will clear.

Got out for some camping in Tonto National Forest last night... Tried to make a new friend on the way to the campsite but we just missed each other...

It was a little bit chilly when I turned in for the night, but at least there wasn't any snow on the ground and none in the forecast, so a little metal detecting after breakfast would be fun...

Well... at least it wasn't much snow and the roads getting back up to the highway wouldn't be too bad...

Just little muddy/slippery and the drop-off was only like 200ft... and hey, at least visibility was good and the snow wasn't sticking...

Nevermind, I'm going to stop talking now and install my new shifter so I can stay on topic for this thread..

edit for context: After having argued about Illinois winter driving skills being equal to Alaska winter driving skills the previous evening at the campfire...

My buddy from Alaska in the Tundra ahead over the radio: "Dude, are you in 4Low?"

Me: "I don't need it but I have it and its incrementally safer to not really have to use the brake much at all"

It's a special order option, but there wasn't any extra cost associated. I had the same on my 80 series sliders and liked it. Diamond plate just feels like 1985 for some reason.........
