Ah, thought it might be that. I also have one, but haven't used it in a couple years. It did work great to open up the rear end for car camping.

Go east along the Colorado River about 20 miles out of Moab, which in that part of the world ain’t far! Do you use Gaia or other gps map? Should not be a problem to find and totally worth it (unless rain in forecast; flash flood would be bad in that area). We hiked the slot canyon all by ourselves...

Fully loaded for the track, my rig was sagging a bit in the rear - the bags should help out nicely. I've done two longish tows without the bags since getting the LC a few weeks ago.

These tow modest loads very well. My setup is a very light open aluminum car trailer (trailex 1,000 lbs) + my race car (2,750 lbs) + spare wheels/tires (300 lbs) = ~4,000 lbs. Tongue weight is likely on the high side for a load less than 5K lbs given where my tire rack sits on the trailer. The addition of the firestone bags should level out the LC and make trips to and from the track even more enjoyable.

What kind of mileage are you getting when towing? We just did 4500miles with an rpod camp trailer and averaged ~9mpg through lots of mountain terrain. Otherwise good tow.

Onion creek is a beautiful trail. Not technically difficult at all...but a fun one worth doing.

Gaia is great, but Funtreks books are really helpful too. Pick up the Moab FunTreks book & it’ll make things much easier...with specific, odometer-based trail info.

Looks great. I'm in San Antonio also and am curious as to what shop you used. I need to find a good shop for when I lift my truck. Also, what size tires are you running?

I've towed in the relatively flat Midwestern US so not an apples to apples comparison. I've averaged around 12 mpg. The tire rack kills efficiency when towing my rig. My last tow vehicle (2014 RR Sport) would easily average 17 mpg fully loaded. The sacrifices we make for reliability!

Chopped mine a few years ago.
Sound is essentially the same. A minor tweak most ears won’t even notice. A non-factor.

I switched from 33" Falken AT3Ws to 35x12.5" Toyo AT3s. On some level, I miss the Falken's already as they are a meatier more aggressive tire. They commonly get knocked because of weight, but it would continue to be wrong to judge the Falken's negatively as pound for pound, the Falken's are just more tire in dimensions and rubber. But so far so good and first impressions from a very short drive is that the Toyo's ride smooth.

I'll start another thread to provide more details on the fitment and tires after I get some time on this.

Yup, re-geared and bigger brakes. Had to make sure I can still tow 15k worth of rig as I step into 35s. Links in sig.
 
I did my rear screen delete.

I ordered the Trekboxx covers and they arrived quickly. TBH, I didn't like the bare plastic look.

I ordered the OEM leather screen covers with the embossed 'LAND CRUISER' for the original LC200 rear screens. I took them to my local upholstery shop to have them stripped and wrapped over the Trekboxx covers. It looks so much better now. I also added the Toyota tablet holders.
