Were there any pins to fill, or straight tape-on?
Straight tape-on. Just pulled them off and cleaned. Took about an hour total to get it all done and ready to polish/wax.
 
For Thanksgiving we drove from Denver to Branson, MO, and returned to Denver. We thought the big size of the LC would be nothing more than a big sail in the KS winds. Clearly not! It's weight kept it steady. We did this trip last year in a Subaru Outback and had to change the route due to the winds.
  • Everyone had plenty of room.
  • We enjoyed the quiet and smooth ride.
  • 19 mpg average (would've been higher if not for the winds).
  • We had extra space after packing for 10 days with clothes, toys & books, full-size stroller, and all our food.

Before the trip I finished these tasks:
  • Engine oil.
  • Spark plugs.
  • Engine air filter.
  • Cabin air filter.
  • Front and rear wiper blades.
  • Re-inserting the connecting pin for the cabin-filter cover because I was unaware of this problem. :)
  • Front diff, rear diff, transfer case oils.
  • Axle zerks.
  • Front and rear rotors, pads, parking brake shoes, stainless steel brake lines, hand brake adjustment, brake fluid flush.
  • Steering fluid flush.
  • Serpentine belt.
  • Engine coolant, upper & lower hoses, thermostat, radiator cap.
  • PCV valve.
  • New battery (the dealership where we bought it put in a battery with less cranking amps per spec).
  • Dash cams for front, rear, and both sides.
  • Battery for dash cams.
  • Transmission fluid flush, transmission filter.
  • Drilling through two transmission bolts at the last minute so we could leave on time.

Nice list! Which dash cams did you go with? I’m on the hunt for them. Did you install yourself? How’s the video quality?

I got the Blackvue 900S-2ch for the front and rear, and the Blackvue 750S-2ch for the left and right sides. The battery is also Blackvue and integrates easily with the cams. The phone apps are easy to use and have more than enough settings.

Quality is SUPERB with the 900S including night and rain. 750 is a bit lower but still would be plenty enough for most drivers. We live in Denver, CO, which if you did not know, is a safe haven for the worst drivers in America and has the most aggressive and road-rage drivers in America. So this is why we got the 900S for front and rear, and why we have all 4 sides covered.

I’ve looked at 900s and debating between them and thinkware 800. Nextbase is really good as well. I really don’t want to pay another monthly service Fee for cloud storage as I have know problem just erasing data when my vehicle is garaged for the evening.

The Blackvue does not require you to have a cloud membership. It's optional. And it's only necessary if you want to monitor your dash cams in real-time when the vehicle is parked. I can easily access my videos and change the settings via my iphone without a cloud membership. All I need to do is be in or near the vehicle. The Blackvue 900 and 750 have their own wifi so you can connect with them easily with your phone. This makes it easy to set the viewing angle because you will have a live feed. I don't have the cloud membership as it's unnecessary for my needs.

Some, if not all, of the Thinkwares have an annoying message when the vehicle is started and you cannot turn it off. The Blackvue gives me the option to turn it off.

Plus, and this is the biggest one, the Blackvue 900S is a TRUE 4k video driven by hardware. Many other brands use software to obtain a 4k video. Hardware-driven video will always have a cleaner and crisper result than software driven.

As with most dash cams, the Blackvue will re-write over data. I think my dash cams have 7-8 hours of recording time before the loop starts again. All of this depends on the SIZE of the memory card. The bigger the memory card, the longer recording time is stored before the loop begins again.

Thanks for the info. on BlackVue. I will go cruising my local Audio/video store after the Christmas shopping rush. I want to put them in all my cars, including my kids car.

If you really want 4K, then the corresponding Thinkware product is the U1000.
In a relatively big place like Austin I'd recommend finding a place that sells both products (like the dash cam store) and having them do an apples to apples comparison in areas that meet your needs. Some YouTube videos claim advantage to one brand in an area, then give advantage to the other brand in another area. Only you will know what's important to you.

Finally got the Nitro gears and ARB lockers inside the diff centers. Now i need the centers in the car but i have a new rear fabbed rear diff housing on its way.
Painted the Gearbox and Transfer case, waiting for new custom billet flex plate to be finished
Zinc plated all bolts for the 5.1 stroker
Ceramic coated Exhaust Manifolds with added Temp bungs for tuning.

I'm not worthy. I'm so embarrassed. That's a cap screw, not a bolt. Sorry, I know better, I'll try harder next time.

Next project will be to hopefully wrap most of the chrome in matte gunmetal and find a tire dressing I like. Something that isn't shiny, doesn't attract dust or turn brown. Testing diluted carpro PERL now.

My go to is the Meguires foam spray shine. It’s not overly shiny to me. Just makes the tires a deep black. My favorite is it doesn’t sling off on the clean truck if you wait about 20-30 min. I usually apply at night before parking it. Once it’s been used several times, my tires don’t turn brown, even if weeks go between applications.

Yes, did it myself. Not difficult. I'll try to do the post during Christmas week. I put the wires along the headliner, at the sides, where the top of the door-rubber-thingy meets the headliner. I did NOT attempt to move the headliner in any way. Hopefully my pics, if I can make it happen will help.
