Bought four used 265/65R18 Duratrac tires today and had them mounted on some used 18x8 50mm offset Enkei wheels I picked up last week. Then had them put on the 2011 LC in place of the stock wheel/tires.

Now waiting on some rain; then we'll see if the Duratracs can pull us to the top of the mountain at the tree farm. It's about 700 foot of rise in 2400 foot of run, just an old mud and rock mule trail from back when my wife's grandfather used to farm the top. It's an interesting drive even when it is dry. It gets very interesting when it rains. The 4Runner i just sold could not pull it in the rain even with 33" Cooper ATPs.

Try CRAWL mode on the way up that hill and you'll probably make it no problem (even with Duratracs).

I got the same tires and they rub slightly on full lock in reverse. I cannot get discount tire to balance them correctly. I'm about to return them if they cannot fix it or give me my $ for the bad instal. The scratched the rims badly in mounting the tires.

Thats no good, I have A/TW3's in 275/60/20 on the wifes and 285/70/17 E rated on mine and they both balanced rather easily from what the discount tire guy told me and have been great for 10k miles now.

Also if any of you local(Denver ares) guys need a spare 20" early LX wheel I have a spare your welcome to take.

Both of mine balanced fine. The front right passenger side tire was 3psi low which caused it to pull a bit to the right. Once I aired it up it was good. The spare barely fits with the factory mount. The front drivers rubs just a bit on the front mudflap when turning maybe 25%. I've not noticed any rubbing backing out of my driveway while turning and dropping down the curb. All of this is in Normal height mode. No spacers. Factory 2009 LX.

Yes.

Be careful on **balance** (EDIT! Accidentally typed “alignment” here before).

Make sure to have them use “dynamic” balancing vs. standard on their machine.
Not all shops will use that term... Not sure...

Believe it or not... it was WAL MART who fixed the dreadfully-off-balance mess a tire shop created the day before. I was in the middle of a desert leg heading to Moab when I realized how bad balance was. Multiple tires were **more than 6 ounces off(!!!!!).

They yanked a ton of weights off that the tire shop botched and it was perfect after that.

If it was not there with your old tires, not much else it could be. Would take it to a different discount location and ask them to balance them again. Locations do make a difference, the one closest to my house suck but the one 2 miles further down have been awesome.

Agree ^ Definitely look at a different location if possible. Discount location that originally installed my 305/55s did an awful job. Took it to my normal location and all good now. Also check inflation, they had mine all over the place.

Agree with the advice above to have the tires road forced balanced! Mine are great now after doing so...there was significant shimmy in the steering wheel and pulling to the right before.

Thanks for the advice. i'll take it to the Discount Tire up the road a bit. in checking the TP, all 4 tires are all over the place from a pressure perspective. some as low as 32 others at 37 psi.
