General question to the group, do folks normally go with E or do some use D also?
Thanks

Here's a general answer:

For any given LT-metric tire, the recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure will be the same for a C-Rated tire, a D-Rated tire or an E-Rated tire of the same size.

What changes with the Load Range is the Ply Rating of the tire. The following chart from TireRack shows this:

It is reasonable to assume that a tire with a higher Ply Rating will be more resistant to abrasion/puncture than a tire with a lower Ply Rating.

Therefore, when choosing a tire that will see ANY offroad use, I choose a tire with the highest Load Range available in the size I need.

what load rating did you go with on those?

With some exceptions, I believe most here run E rated tires.

In run a P size. Mostly HWY/CTY and snow in winter. Not an off-roader (don't shoot me ;))

On a similar thought, stock size pressure is 33 F&R; what is the bump in pressure for a 275/65 P size? I can't find it anywhere. Installer set is at 35, which feels firm, but I like it.

Wildpeak AT3W in a 275/65/18. Quieter than expected.

I ran those WildPeaks on my 80 for 45,000 miles, I found them to be fantastic. I would have gone with them again happily, but the size wasnt available when I needed to replace them, and I went with the Cooper AT3 instead, which is also turning out to be a great tire.

If you mean P275/65R18 tires, then the recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure is the same as stock: 33psi

The AT3 was my first choice, but its only made in an LT size (I wanted a P). The Cooper Discoverer A/TP is a Discount Tire only model and very close to the AT3 in terms of design. They will do very cheap deals and price matches on those.

Just got off the horn with discount and they also have the same tire in 10 ply E rated for the size I am looking for and as you said they are willing to match the cheapest price I can find online which is around $160 a tire so I will probably be stopping by and ordering up a set tomorrow. Thanks for posting!

What size are you going with in the 10 ply?
