Replaced OEM reverse lights with 921 6K LED White bulbs. The camera doesn't do it justice but it's brighter.View attachment 1354826 View attachment 1354833

trying to swap mine out this evening and I'm stuck - removed the three nuts and the clip on the out side - did you need to remove the interior hatch panel to get to anything on the inside? can't seem to get the lamp housing to release, something else is holding it in place....thanks - i looked at the toyota removal process but i'm missing something?

Hey Willy... if you mean backup lights? You don't have to remove any interior panel!

You take the three screw thingies (with the weird plastic heads on them) and then you have to pull SUPER hard on the whole red backup/brake light housing.

You have to pull so hard, you'all be scared it will break. But it won't. It's just super stiff.

I'm always amazed when I take something apart in this truck just how much is held together by plastic clips and pressure fittings. No wonder it doesn't make weird noises. Not much metal on metal.

Made good progress on bull bar install. Taking as long as a I thought is would, but actually going smoother than I expected. Just lots of steps to this point and not in a hurry.

Ready to mount in the morning, then finish the wiring, plumb the washers and install the final pieces. Going to also black out the grill, so big day tomorrow.

Nice. It's like having headlights in the rear and really a useful safety improvement. I replaced almost all of the incandescent bulbs with LEDs.

Carcarekiosk.com is a great site, and most of the Land Cruiser guides are applicable with the LX as well.
