Well I have found a $15 hand held sewing machine and new Velcro for my third row seats at hobby lobby ( I know I can remove seats but if hand held works wife has other uses for it without the big table top version) so that should stop that infernal swaying of the loose seats when up right.

Just changed rear diff oil.....was in good shape and waiting on PB blaster to work on front 10mm hex head that's not even considering budging........any ideas. Heat ok to use.?

Also what kind of grease are y'all putting in your cvs boots? Can you mix types?

Had a very squeaky lower front ball joint, water got in between Teflon bush & ball joint and drove me nuts, eventually sprayed WD 40 in there and it finally shut up... Wondering what the best replacement/mod would be for both lower front ball joints? Toyota only sells a complete new arm here

Head lights stopped tilting after going through a serious rain storm, that took out trees and had roads underwater... so now they are set on 5 and can't adjust, got some fuses so hoping its just a fuse issue & not the motor that controls the headlight tilt... But I am guessing there would be 2 motors and both would not go at same time so should be a fuse...

Have had my 100 for about a month now.

First thing first was fix the stinkbug a bit. Raised the front end about 2 in. It was as if the po got the lift then never lifted the front end.
Problem fixed.
Of course, I took off the running boards at the same time.

Installed my stereo into it. Sounds a lot better( although I need to bypass this factory amp)
Pioneer app radio, jl w6 12", 1000watt alpine amp.
Much better.

Then yesterday, I replaced the poor worn out 265 bfg at's with some 285 Kevlar mtr's. Waaaaay better.

Oh and then also got my 32" led bar from nick mounted. Amazing.

Last but not least I sold my 80. Sad day but I sold it to my brother, so at least ill be able to be around it whenever!

I've always been a fan of the looks of them . This one has kind of been a turd, but I've heard decent stuff about the 2.

To me it looks great. Had it in my fjc, and I like that in landcruisers you don't need a fit kit.
No gaps, but it does stick out about 3/8 ".

Best mod under $50.... Free, with some cord I had l laying around the house. I need to clean up the knots.

My wife wanted it out of the way in the back and any mount on the roof would keep her out of the garage.

leave it in the garage until you go wheeling, then get a roof rack mount. That'll kill someone in a wreck, and wear a hole in your leather, and you won't ever use it around town. Heck, I haven't used my hi-lift even off road for almost nine years. If you wheel enough to get stuck/flats that require a hilift, pony up and carry it right - outside the vehicle or securely bolted to the floor inside...

^^X2! That is definitely not the way you want to carry your HiLift. If you need it in your truck for wheeling and don't have a proper roof mount, bolt it to the floor via the 3rd row seat anchors. Otherwise, leave it at home. A block of wood and your bottle jack is safer than a suspended HiLift.

Quality mounts aren't that expensive. Shane (Labrak) makes a nice one, so does HiLift.

X3!!!!!that looks so ridiculously dangerous. Get the slee mounts for your roof rack if you want it with the truck all the time. You could literally decapitate everyone in the truck with it like that. Not to mention all those cords are an eye sore

EDIT:you say its your wife's, does it even have the hard points to use a hi lift? Sliders, Rear pumper front bumper etc?

I would leave it in the garage as stated. Either that or fabricate a rigid mounting solution in the back. Hi-Lifts can be disassembled and re-assembled quickly, I would stash it in pieces in the back securely. Your wife doesn't want the jack in the back, you got the space back but you now have a huge liability back there, potentially a missile. I'm a bit OCD for occupancy safety, I just put a cargo barrier in the back of my truck because I had a box with bubble wrap come over the back of the seat. A 40MPH speed bump/table will be enough to pop that jack up and over the back seats, if any of those straps gives way (they probably aren't too tight) that thing will be a swinging axe in the back. If you get hit in anyway that jack is going to be a missile. Not trying to be rude, but I don't want to see you replacing back windows or torn leather. I never want to see you dealing with trauma to the head or a passenger in the back that got smacked by it due to a accident.

Built a rear storage system, no actual drawers yet. I used 3/4 cabinet grade plywood, some 2.5" decking screws, turnbuckles and u-bolts. It is very sturdy.

I just need to get a piano hinge to attach the wings and carpet it

had to do some trimming on the rears to get it to reach the 3rd screw, hopefully the picture shows that. Also had to trim the fronts a fair amount, still need a little more. the passenger side is rubbing

I was just bored, messing around with the jack mount. She wouldn't need to carry it if she didn't have sliders or bumpers. I'm not going to leave it there I was just happy I got it out her way. I think you may have taken our responses out if context. Everything about this thread is showing what you're doing and exchanging ideas. HiLifts are dangerous if not secured properly. Doesn't matter if its on road or off. Some people won't carry them at all because they can be dangerous to even use. A block of wood and a bottle jack may be safer.

Just trying to point out a potential hazard and something that could literally kill someone. It's just not a safe operation. It also seemed by your initial post that that's where/how you were going to carry your HiLift.

Finally got around to completing my diff extensions.. i did the rear last year and ran out of hose, finally got around to the transfer case, tranny and a separate line for the front diff. the front diff breath line was completely rusted up. i wonder if the drip from my axle seals will be remedied from the pressure release.

lubed my winch line a few days ago, in prep for snow wheeling this weekend.

After 8 years with my LX, I just started checking into the forum in the past month or so. Great, great info, here

In the past couple of weeks, I swapped the entire AHC system for an OME setup with torsion bars and Slee diff drop. Then I pulled the dash and killed the flashing "AHC OFF light"

Next up was rear speaker replacements with Polk 6.5" and MAF cleaning with K&N filter replacement (from stock). Yesterday was the spare tire clearance modification and installation of the EMSPowered catback system

Next up is hopefully a header replacement, but I keep holding out for RobRed's EMS vs DT review and EMS's own dyno tests.
