Keep us up to date on those Powerstops. I'm due for new rotors in the next 1-2 months. Looking at DBA, EBC and those Powerstops.

Right after they were installed, they had a little chatter. It took about 100 miles for them to get seated and quiet down. They’ve been great since. No fading and completely silent. They haven’t developed any rust like the Autozone value rotors I have used in the past.

How are you running the wire into the cabin?

The cable runs into the top corner of the hatch opening where there's plenty of room. It's tucked behind the weather strip lip and goes all the way down into the Labs bumper where it meets the factory harness and goes into the factory wiring grommet that leads into the passenger side fender cavity. That's where my booster and aux fuse panel are located. Turned out way easier and cleaner than I had imagined.

I suggest going OEM. Land Cruiser Specialist replaced all four of mine with OEM pads and rotors and they are incredibly responsive. Very happy with my decision to stick with OEM

They did mine last year (fronts in February, rears in August). The rotors already need replaced after 35k. My rig is much heavier than stock, I daily drive it here in Austin and I have a small camping trailer I now tow. I'm looking for something more robust than OEM. Have heard really good things about the DBAs in terms of brake performance on heavy rigs. But, they are expensive as heck. Might just be one of those times where I bite the bullet and pay the coin.

Ah, makes sense. Hope to see you around town!

Just bought my 100 in July. Went to the Chattahooche National Forest in North Georgia and had as much fun as I was comfortable having on street tires. This week I installed new Power Stop front brakes & rotors and new OEM grade Monroe shocks. Also replaced the subwoofer with an Audio Pipe 6. I bought 2 pairs of Rockford Fosgate Primes for the doors but I haven’t installed them yet.

How did you like the trails up there considering the stock tires? I’m pretty much In a similar boat right now with having just purchased a 100 and having stock tires for now. Trying to find places to explore and camp with the family this fall.

I special order Centric Premium Rotors from wherever I can find a coupon for when I need them. I add CRY to the rotor part number so I get the cryo version of the rotor. Since it's a cryo part it's always been a drop ship from me, which normally is a week wait. I have OEM everything except rotors and brake shoes (which i'm regretting, gonna adjust the brake shoes one more time before I rip them out and go back to OEM if they don't stay adjusted for more than a few months)

Gobi Stealth rack! According to Paul @ Gobi, this is the first time they’ve installed on a 2007, which apparently has a different mounting system than 05’ and earlier 100’s and called for custom mounting brackets
Sunroof insert works great, too. Couldn’t be happier!

The trail is called Nimblewill Gap OHV Road and it’s near Dawsonville. It was my first time doing anything remotely like off-roading so I had a good time. There wasn’t anything too challenging. One small section of big rocks where I scraped a little bit but no damage. I didn’t want to get into anything too rough because I don’t have anything for recovery right now.

Which one did you buy?
Mind posting the link? This is definitely my next mod.
Hey

Hey what the hell.. can you link the one you got...i'll take the plung and get it installed.. Also any thing we should be looking out for during install? Thanks
Sorry guys, been away from mud for a bit!

Here is the link to the exact one I bought:
Fleabay snorkel kit for LX470

My thoughts on it are:
The quality thus far is surprisingly good. The snorkel has held up through multiple car washes with the roller coming down and everything.
The bad things are there are absolutely no instructions, but all of the hardware is included. You can basically figure it out once you lay it all out in front of you. I do NOT like the silver worm clamp that it comes with, purely from an aesthetic viewpoint. It looks out of place unlike the 80 series versions that use a slightly smaller diameter worm clamp but in black. I've tried looking for a larger black worm clamp without any luck.

Like someone said earlier, the hardest part of the install is getting the large rubber hose that resides in the fender well to go onto the stock airbox. Lube is your friend here.

Also, I don't think I mentioned it, but the only thing I did differently was NOT use the rivets that come with the kit. Those rivets are meant to be driven into the OEM A-pillar so that the black metal L bracket can be in place to hold the upright section of the snorkel. So what I did was get some rectangular rare earth magnets off of Amazon and used it there to hold the metal L bracket in place.
And before I forget, here is the link to the magnets I used

Interesting....

I used some kind of double-sided 3M emblem tape on the suggestion of a post I found on a Tacoma forum somewhere. But it didn't work at all—mine won't stay stuck, and wobbles ever so slightly in freeway driving. I wouldn't dare take it through a car wash. I'd really rather not drill holes...I'll try your version.

Edit: 8 bucks?! It's a no brainer to try.

To be clear, I did not use any double sided tape, and it did come with it but how I see it, if it is a rare earth magnet, and is between metal and metal, I didn’t want anything in between. My friend with an 80 series also tried the same method but used tape. The result was not as good so I told him to try it without the tape. To date, I’ve taken the LX with the snorkel through a car wash maybe around 12 times so far and for the first 5 or so washes, I would get out and check the placement. It hasn’t budged since the initial install. I used all 8 magnets as you can see.

Try it out!

I also have the two sided gorilla tape holding the top part of the snorkel and it has already come off once. Thanks for the Amazon link, I just ordered the magnets
