I actually canceled my Amazon one really quickly after seeing what looks to be the exact same one on ebay for $70 shipped. It has the "Land Cruiser" text as well so I imagine it likely is from the same place in China.

Repaired my brake line mishap this morning...

Played with the new suspension a little. I went and fueled up and before I knew it I was gone for almost 3 hours. Andrea was calling asking where the hell I was.

53 miles of highway (30-90mph)
18 miles of BLM roads
8 miles of Union Pacific access road

I'm in love with this setup.

Anything is possible ... it may even be the same seller for all I know. BUT, I DON'T BUY THINGS OFF EBAY... They and Walmart could be gone tomorrow and I'd dance a jig....

I'm with ya on that one, but between leftover eBay credit and a discount on the snorkel, I had to make one last purchase... scored it for $75 before the eBay credit

Great to hear back on the TD suspension. Mess with the adjustment dial at all in the rear?

C, I did play with the stages.

Per TD recommendation for this kit..

Stage 7 is where I started for the highway run. I felt it was a little firm, but I'm still not fully loaded.
I found that 5 was smooth and thought I was back in the stock rig. (figure 6 will be the sweet spot once loaded)

I played with 1-4 on BLM and the UP access road. I'm a happy customer at 3 and 4. I never would run my rig like I did today but wanted to see and push the rear shocks (mainly my comfort level).

The UP access road is slightly maintained with deep whoops (up to 18" deep) and washboards. At 35mph I can run through this without bottoming out. At about 42-44mph, it hits and I'm pretty sure I caught air a few times. I ran a section of the washboards at 50mph and felt like a rough alley at best. (figure 3 will be the sweet spot off-road)

Overall with the rig still being light for the designed spring rate, I'm sold and love it. The front end and steering is nice. Very responsive, no over steer and holds the road nicely, up to 85mph. Off-road it is a little firm, but I'll give my final opinion once fully loaded.

Very little for poser shots. I still had quite a bit of spring remaining (by looking at the coils, about 3-4") in these shots. I'll hunt for better poser opportunities in the next couple weeks.

I do that, just go find a road and drive.

I am thinking about this rack myself. What configuration did you order?
Full expo, no grid (not planning on carrying small stuff and I'd hate to try to clean under the grid).

Installed it!

That looks great!

Anyone running the expo rails up?

I am thinking expo++ with rails up.

SMOOTH & quiet. Didn't put the center caps on yet. need to mod them to fit I think or I can just throw the Lexus ones on and see if they fit. Oh... and literally brand new wheels, and 90% tread tires. Guy took them off of his tundra for bigger/badder wheels/tire combo - which worked in my favor :D

Now to sell my wheels/tires to recoup some or all of the cost. fronts which have 60% and rears which have 40%

The Ebay snorkels are hit or miss.. Eventhough the pics show Land Cruiser they are blank or have some other wording on them. Hope it works good for you.

Installed the Gamiviti fairing - it's absolutely necessary as without it the rack is incredibly loud. With the fairing, I'm not sure I hear it at all.

Also (finally) wired up the wireless remote for my winch - it's been sitting on the bench for a year now, just staring at me, making me feel guilty.

Nope, as long as you go through the seller that's listed in the "budget snorkel" thread, you get the identical one you ordered, says "Land Cruiser" and all. Paid $70. Everyone who has ordered through the same eBay dealer has received their product quick and all the snorkels received are identical. Budget Snorkel Review

The TJM knockoff is the only knockoff I know of having logo/branding on it.

I still hate fleabay, but it's a dang good deal :hillbilly:

Good to know. They did make it a point to put "Exactly like in picture" in the description and all the photos have the land cruiser molding. If not, I have 60 days to return.

Brought my Gamiviti home after it's long journey to Texas via truck, then trailer, then truck again....will have to install this weekend...

but my excitement was short lived when I found 2 drops of grease on the driveway. Further investigation revealed this:

These are OEM, only 6 months on the truck and maybe 5k miles. 0 miles off road, so far.
Why did this boot fail? It's not like the angle is extreme, and it's the inner joint.....? I'm fairly sure I felt/heard it tear at some point when it happened, yesterday, and didn't know what I was feeling. It looks like it tore completely around in the one spot. Still doesn't make sense as to why, it should not be stressed to tearing there. Perhaps just defective?

Fortunately, I think/hope Toyota will warranty the part, since it's less than 12 months old.

@yeti in ga , are you still having boot tearing problems, or did you ever come up with a source of your problem?

Well @HFDPNL, yea I still have a torn boot , but almost all of my noise and vibration is gone. My UJOINTS at both ends of the drive shafts were shot and clanking and banging around @ 250k. For me huge difference, before and after rides great again. I still need to get my boot fixed but I have decided to go another way... Maybe it will work , its called wait until it starts clicking or fails.... Some would say that is crazy , but for me replacing with a ripped boot doesn't make since to me anymore when your going to replace the entire thing or with in the year it rips again. I think this is something I will learn how to do myself and then I will be more incline to rebuilding them. I know some of my issues with rips have been wheeling and running over stuff. I almost never move anything out of the way , I just run over it...:steer: trees, branches, sticks, small animals. Anyway , I do carry a spare CV axle when really out wheeling and I understand the process of going 2wd if needed. When I talked to the Toyota dealer they were not even going to use a real Toyota rebuilt axle, but of course they where going to charge me for one. Anyway , I am thinking of shooting some grease in there every once in a while and using a heat wrap around the boot to hold it and keep dirt out as long as I can before replacement and wheel away with no gilt or worry !! . :grinpimp:

Reindexed 2 splines then cranked the oem tbars to 20.5" from center of axle to get the nose up after the slee blueberry and winch install. While in there, put on lower marks4wd control arm reinforcement brackets. I'm very happy to have the front suspension back up in the air and functioning well.
