Went to the sand dunes with @geo5 and @bettercallsaul this weekend. Got to borrow a Tacoma Trailhunter edition. Few shots from the weekend

More shots of the taco. Some random guy was there in a black I think it was a bronco. But he got some air. But I dont know him. Oh and big thanks to Ben at Hatch Adventures for lining the Tacoma up for me. Hatch adventures has some very cool Toyotas available for rent.

Ya know how the old 22RE struggles when you put bigger tires on?
Well I figured I might as well try the LC Engineering Power Package and see fi I can squeeze a few more ponies out of the old tractor engine.
EFI Power Package
I installed all the parts I could at home, but it also comes with a new Camshaft and rockers that I will have Rising Sun install.
Parts Installed:
Larger Throttle Body
Throttle Body Spacer
Intake Kit
Street Header (removes CAT)
New 4 wire O2 sensor
New Spark Plugs

Nothing like new shiny parts to make a grown man giggle at his old Yota.

It is definitely got more pep right out of the gate and I can actually climb through 5th gear now.
Before 5th gear was only really usable on flat roads, any slight hill and back to 4th.
The exhaust is quite a bit louder as the cast manifold and CAT helped hold in the noise, But I like it.
The header coupled with the Flowmaster muffler does have a nice growl to it and makes the Toyota sound like a happy lil rock bouncer again!
Can't wait for the camshaft install as that will be the real test of what the kit can do for the lil RE.

I picked up another set of rock warrior wheels locally and I think I’m going to get these powdered coated so I pulled the rock rings off. This was no easy feat as they were corroded and the bolts wanted no part of coming out. So a little heat and away we went. Still managed to break 4 T30 bits in the process but I’m ok with that since I was able to get all the bolts out in the end.

Just looking for some thoughts…. I’m leaning towards gold or copper ish color for the wheels to go with my Blue Onyx paint…. Any thoughts or ideas?

A couple weeks back I went to a spot N of here I store a few rigs. Got another axle for yet another GX with a bent one. Fortunately I’ve got these rigs stashed all over within a few hours.

A good buddy owns the few acres I store a half dozen rigs. Brought up a 87 60 that’s been sitting here for a year for long term storage up there. Got it barley running enough to take out Liza his kid for a drive to its final long term storage spot.

I've been trying to find someone in Nm to replace my mashed up rear lower link frame brackets.. 235k mile and still wheeling hard. Happened back in August and survived Moab

Bolt-on-itis continues, did the fire extinguisher seat mount (scrub king seat mount, desert does it quick release bracket, h3R FE)

Followed by Delta Vs rear sway bar mounts and bushing refresh

Snuck in some fishing on the upper today with a visiting buddy, didn’t see another boat all day which was crazy.

I've got the intake off my V8. The bolts were super loose. That's probably why the gasket failed. Previous owner probably didn't properly torque them, but I've owned it for long enough that I probably can't blame them anymore. Check your bolts.

that might solve your running issues, i had it happen once and it was definetly evident. after last year you can't emphasasize that last sentence enough

Cruised down to Reno today to pick up a 1 year old hawk.

I got the engine in my 40 put back together. I put a new battery, starter, and spark plugs in just for fun.

Got it back to MT. One problem is RV cover only fits 2 campers. So that’s full already.

If we ever got one it was important to get the big fridge. Hopefully this camper works as well as we had envisioned. None the less it’s hear and we will start using it next week. Definitely a slippery slope. Already ordered another alucab shadow awn. Etc.
