Jtoutfiters has one, but that's with Chevy parts and looks like many mods for mini-truck conversion. Is there any simple bolt on for all four wheels?

If I found a 1979 or newer front brakes would I be able to keep old axles? Would I have to modify the steering arm? I will stay away from jto. Thank you!

What year do you have??

PM me for a set of my freebie disc brake instruction sheets before you spend a dime. Then you can make your purchasing decisions after you have a better idea of what's really required!!!

would it not be easier to get a complete hzj75x rear disc brake rear end and get a complete 40x front disc brake assembly

the rear would have to have the spring perches moved in wards but overall a straight forward swap and retain the factory landcruiser parts, the front would be a bolt in

i thinks the co is called street rod manufacturing and they sell a complete kit for the rear .you can buy the kit or any of the parts you need.i have used several and they were good for us and after years they are still holding up.i will try to find the folder for the phone no ,its been posted on here before good luck

TSM is the company shelfboy is referencing for the rear kit. I did this for less than 1/3 of what they want for this sourcing new/reman parts myself & finding someone to open up the rotor centers on a lathe. All comes down to time vs $$. $440 for everything you need with std rotors.

FJ-40 Land Cruiser

Just finished by disk conversion this weekend. Take a look at my build thread in signature. In Summary,

For my 9/72 FJ40
Front: replaced course splined birfields with fine spline from a 79 FJ40. Used the knuckle on out from a 77 FJ40. Used brake calipers as a core for remanufactured ones from Napa.

Rear: Went with the Monte Carlo set up with brackets and rotors from Poser. Bought calipers at Napa.

Replaced soft brake lines with stainless steel braided (custom made at local shop). Removed the residual valves from the master cylinder and installed a proportioning valve. .

Did not replace the 10 lbs residual valve with a 2 lbs for the rear. I get minimal rear lockup on a dirt road when I slam on the brakes above 25 mph.

Note: this was my first experience with wrenching other than oil changes. Learned a lot.

TSM makes a kit for the rear...pretty much all the parts you need. Makes it easy, you don't have to go to the junkyard.
