170 miles today. Filled with fuel before I left and topped off when I got home.
13.8 mpg - ran about 75 miles of gravel including some 2 track that was 1st and 2ng gear slow speeds. Ran 60-65 on the big highway, 50-55 on two lane.
Not complaining about the mileage. It has all the power, and it’s in base mode as I haven’t fixed the MAF issue yet.

Positive notes from today- the whole day was actually a win.
40 ran absolutely flawless.
15+ people talked to me about it including an on duty park ranger who wanted to take a picture.
Found some new camp spots. Some places to avoid.
Sat in the river and had a beer or 3
It’s awesome having an arm rest from the Tuffy
2LO is sweet

Side notes -
The seats are ok, my back isn’t pissed but it’s not perfect either. I need to adjust driver seat back 1” and 1/2” up on front legs. I think that will help.
Clutch slave needs adjusted a little, throughout touches the clutch occasionally while idling.
The steering with bump steep in a dip or hill crest needs addressed.
The lunchbox locker sucks with a v8, I didn’t hate it with the original engine but it’s coming out soon. Too annoying, but it did save me from having to lock in the hubs once today.
My fuel sender isn’t working. I have a feeling it’s stuck inside the tank. “Easy fix”

Few pictures from the day.

If I only knew how to take a video worth a damn. Then knew how to get a picture from it without screenshot. 😂
A photograph is a photograph.
A screenshot from a video is not.

Another 140 miles today. Went to grandmas house in the woods with the pups. She lives on 3 sides National forest in 155 acres. Closest pavement is 6 miles. She’s 84 and lives alone kicking ass every day. I just hope to make it to 48 at this point.

Took the dogs along for the ride. Worked on some google picture takin instructions.

Closing in on 400 miles since the swap was completed..

Doing a post trip inspection today (which turned into progress, more on that later), I checked the bolts, the leaks, and wires/ hoses/ cables.
Happy to report that the only “issue” I have is the rear output seal on the transfer case is leaking (again) and the shift lever rod is leaking on the T case. I guess I need to call and get one of those double seal housings.

To add to the day. I met a Bull Wagon on the two lane on my way home today. He was hauling a$$ and I was running 65.. Well the hood lifted a little, I soiled a little. However it stayed latched and reminded me I should probably take the time to put a later model safety latch on the hood sometime.

When I got home this is how the hood was.

(I really wish I could insert pictures between text on my phone.. )

In true dad fashion I got home this evening, had some grub, a beverage. Got bored and went to the garage.

Ended up -
Building a mount for my dual compressor
Wiring up my circuit breaker
Installing the check engine light (don’t worry I used and existing hole)
Installing a horn so I can be legal
Tidying wiring
Wiring up the fog lights
Leaf blew out the rig, it was way dusty after 90 miles of gravel the last few days
Cleaned the MAF and hooked it back up, cleared codes and will chase that one tomorrow if it comes back.
Modified and Installed my skid plate

Closed it up and drank a Kona.
