Reinstalled TRD PRO rear sway bar.

Sway bar is bad for suspension articulation, that's why it was taken off ~1.5 years ago. No sway bar is very bad on gravel roads with ~150 lbs on the bed cap (rack, awning, canoe).

Figured out I don't do winter offroading past couple of years, so would benefit from having a sway bar. Oh, boy, I was wrong! A minuscule handling improvement, but much harsher ride. Would be cool to have a sway bar disconnect...

Thought this might be interesting - I did two weekends back to back on similar highways with and without my travel trailer (Shadow Cruiser 193MBS - roughly 5500lbs loaded 20 foot full size box double axle trailer). I have Michelin Defender 295/70/18s. Near stock ride height. About 0.7" up in front over stock at lowest height setting on Fox 2.0 shocks. Towing the trailer roughly 450 miles Anchorage to Homer AK and back I averaged 9.2mpg on the dash. Speeds vary from mostly 55-65mph with a few sections slower. It's moderately hilly, but no major passes or large mountains. Starts and ends at sea level and peaks around 1300 feet.

Did a roughly similar drive yesterday but to Seward and back - 150ish miles round trip with no trailer. Averaged 16.7mpg on the dash.

So... adjusted for tire size factor of 1.07 the towing mpg was 9.8mpg and not towing was 17.3mpg. Not great. Not terrible. Pretty typical for my Tundra.

I'd really love to do a side by side with the same conditions and a 3rd gen Tundra to see how far off the mpg is.

I rented a 2nd gen Sequoia in Alaska and paid for unlimited miles. We put almost 1,000 miles on it, driving all over the typical places in the southern part of the state. Seemed like it had slightly bigger than stock tires, but I didn't look at the size. 5.7L, same 4.30 gearing as the 2nd gen Tundra. A respectable 16.2mpg for the trip. That was on the dash, so if the tires were bigger, it would be a bit higher in reality.

I bet the 3rd gen would get close to 20 unloaded. It really starts to pull away when you keep it out of boost.

My daughter and I completed section one, two, and most of section three of Washington BDR.

Had a blast, but kinda wishing I had some upgrades to help me get through the washout section. Bone stock got us pretty far, though! Beautiful views of Mt Adams, St. Helens, and Rainier.

Took the family out to the mountains for the 4th. MY dogs hate fireworks so much. It's a great excuse to get lost for a few days. And finally got to use my new Ironman awing and screenroom. Love this thing, easy setup/take down. Although, I do need to modify the brackets a bit, as you can see it sits up off the ground a bit more then it should.

Milestone on the drive home from Branson, MO back to New America. That’s obviously a joke in case you have a sensitive sense of humor.

Paddled lake Taneycomo, visited Silver Dollar City, water park, giant Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, all without a hiccup so far 🤞

Boring but needed. Oil change day.

The oil and filter change on these trucks is stupid. I hate that I have to remove the skid plate to access the filter. And the angle of the oil drain plug is conducive to oil ricocheting all over the driveway.
