I guess my axle just got pushed farther down the wait listBent and we could not get it straight , so for now goes back in until Rob has time to make a new one. Need to get to work on 40 and truck and trailer for Round up and Marti Krawl.
Thanks for the info. I know most people do both in 1/4 wall but that's just crazy overkill IMO. My first one I did I went the easy route with 2.5" - 3/16W and 2" - 1/4W (my steel supplier wasn't confident, even after grooving, that both 1/4W would fit together). It's still going strong but super noisy. My most recent one (2 days ago) I did the same as you essentially but with both sizes stepped down once. My outer is 2" 1/4W and the inner is 1.5", 3/16W. I'd prefer to use 1/4W on the 1.5" but the 3/16 was readily available from a coworker. We'll see if it holds up to my abuse; If not, I may take you up on grooving something.I used 2.5 x .25 wall on my large tube and 2.0 x .187 trying to make that the weak link in the set up and the receiver hitch material is way out of the price range in my book I could notch a small tube for you if you want to save some green backs
Andy, what are you doing? A swap or repair or upgrade or what?I guess my axle just got pushed farther down the wait list![]()
