Finally fixed my passenger door lock actuator.. It was so easy I can't believe I waited 4 years to do it.
I also installed Ravens dual battery system.
I need to figure out how to mount the washer bottle with the Super Charger.

Removed my rear axle housing to see if it is bent

Anyone do sheetmetal work? I need a new tranny tunnel made. :wrench:

4 spline drive shaft lol

Ten bucks worth of material

Milling .312 ball

.090 deep

Lath turning press fit

What material sizes did you use? I just found a supplier of receiver tube after 2 years of searching. With receiver tube there's no work other than putting in the yokes.

Day one of new gauges for the 80. Got a late start, but ripped out the old cheap mechanicals the PO had in there, traced some wires, still have to find a dimmable cluster wire to tie into, then wired up the new panel. Oil Press, Temp, Trans Temp, Pryo, & Boost.

Got some green LEDs (194/161)from Superbright LEDs, and had to modify the light holes by removing the clear plastic dome inside the gauges. The LEDs were too tall and square. It was a pain in the ass, but once I got a technique it went fast.

Tomorrow I'll run the wires to the engine bay and probably install the senders for the water and oil pressure. Boost and Pyro will be done at Roger's since I don't need to drill into manifolds unattended.

If the dash lights are like the 60, the pos is constant and the ground is regulated.

What's the verdict?

Bent and we could not get it straight , so for now goes back in until Rob has time to make a new one. Need to get to work on 40 and truck and trailer for Round up and Marti Krawl.

I used 2.5 x .25 wall on my large tube and 2.0 x .187 trying to make that the weak link in the set up and the receiver hitch material is way out of the price range in my book I could notch a small tube for you if you want to save some green backs

I guess my axle just got pushed farther down the wait list :crybaby:

Thanks for the info. I know most people do both in 1/4 wall but that's just crazy overkill IMO. My first one I did I went the easy route with 2.5" - 3/16W and 2" - 1/4W (my steel supplier wasn't confident, even after grooving, that both 1/4W would fit together). It's still going strong but super noisy. My most recent one (2 days ago) I did the same as you essentially but with both sizes stepped down once. My outer is 2" 1/4W and the inner is 1.5", 3/16W. I'd prefer to use 1/4W on the 1.5" but the 3/16 was readily available from a coworker. We'll see if it holds up to my abuse; If not, I may take you up on grooving something.

I guess my axle just got pushed farther down the wait list :crybaby:
Andy, what are you doing? A swap or repair or upgrade or what?

A swap and an upgrade! Hope to do one of Robs full float rear axles someday.

That mini is beautiful Rance! BTW, I parted out a grey '80 once, so if you need any parts, lemme know.
