What did you do with your truck this week?

Where's your buildup? I really liked the last one you did.

Unfortunately, I'm moving too slow on the build-up to keep the general public interested. I might begin to document the build in the coming weeks, but life (and work) keeps getting in the way.

Looks nice. How long do you expect the compressor to last without any oil?

we put oil sometimes in....the sanden sd 508 is the same than the endless extreme air..
you have to close somes connections inside

more info on closing and modifying a/c compressor on this french page (and soon on ~ S E R I E - 4 : le site du Club TLC Serie-4 France - TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 40 ~)

this run a longtime on the car from another friend travelling in lybia 2 times and maroco...the sanden sd 508 is a pretty "heavy duty" compressor

got to love shooting all those sparks right onto the gas tank..... Smart to have Marshal do it at his house in case it blew up.. it would be his insurance! I like the way you think John.

Last time I cut on my 62 with the plasma, I sprayed the lift gate window with hot metal and now have about 300 tiny dimples..... the infused steel came off with a razor blade, but left their mark...

Got my new steering rack installed and still have a clunk in front suspension. Looks like the new LCA bushings I installed at Chuck's HAMOM before GSMTR have failed. The lower control arms are sliding back and forth on the bushing bolts by about 1/2". New TEQ bushings are already on their way (under warranty). Hope to have them done before Aunt Sue's.

Yeah that worried me also. We were definitely doing it mafia style. I did have a leather blanket covering the tank. Though the heat from all the work caused fumes to pour out of the gas cap. Only really sfe way of doing it would have been to drop the tank.

hand throttle installed/working for first time since engine swap.

got the map light working for the first time since i got the 40.

small 2 drip a week coolant leak i've been tracking since engine install has been found and repaired (fingers crossed)

got soft top installed and all hardware that was still new in bags installed.

Don't be so modest, looked fine when I saw it

Put some 10" Delta Tech HID driving lights on my truck..... they may be too big and block air flow as I had a running hot problem over the weekend.

thought i needed a new winch cable.

removed and bead blasted all 100+ ft of it.

looks good, oiled and re installed

Decided to switch my wheel/tire combo to something that got me better mpg and a better crawl ratio

awwwww man. Its finally gone :( Seems like good deals and good timing rarely coincide.
at least it got a good home. Congrats Michael.

Rode it long and hard, with protection of course ;) (ear protection that is)
Whirlwind parting party yeilded a bunch of "new" parts for the 80
then had to go work her some more to afford it all (and the 4 consecutive days of filing up)
Look at that lazy dude doing what he does best.... NO help at all :D
