and no pics!!!

rebuilt one brake cylinder. Removed two other that were frozen and got them cleaned up and put back together. Adjusted brakes all the way around.

this pedal would sink to the floor 2-3 pumps before she would harden up. Now she's rock solid. That is until i snagged the brake line pulling the motor out after a fitment test!

made a set of 2" over stock front shackles.

Now the lift isn't screwed up.

once i get the engine in i'll make a set for the rear to level things up.

hey lazy where is the pics!!!

I don't think this 40 is real. I think he is just web wheeling.

I got my 2" BL on the pickup this weekend. Ordering ball joint, oil pump, alternator and 5.29s this week.

I've still got tons of tube steel left over from where my trampoline was ruined by strong winds of a thunder storm.

I want to keep a few for a brush guard project but the rest would make a good tubular bumper, sliders, roof rack or a look good but not too functional roll cage.

free to whoever wants it!!

the 40 is real!

a real pain in my ass!

lol, we tried to warn u!

Drove the family camping in it to Lake Chatuge. Camped in JackRabbit Campground. Broke the relay rod end pulling out of the campsite (level and on pavement). Left it at a friends house, borrowed Dad's truck, and will go back when I get the parts to replace all the steering components. Yay! Guess I need to really start paying attention to myself when I say that parts need replacing.

At least it popped out at .5 mph in the campground instead of 55 on Hwy 76 between Hiawassee and Clayton.

that'd be uber scary if that happened on the highway

I had that happen on a dirt road, basically in front of my house, very very lucky it happened at a slow speed. Cruiser outfitters and cool cruisers both sell the 555 brand CC was having a sale and they were 35$ cheaper than CO. CC does or did not advertise the brand.

Changed the ATF in the 88 62, it was a real PITA because I did not have a socket to drain the fluid first...

Did not have any brake lights or horn or dash lights in the 40, after working on it for about 10 hours it came down to a bad brake switch connection and spooge on the fuse block terminals. I was getting voltage to the fixtures, but when I plugged in a bulb the voltage (12v) would disappear. I traced it back and tested all the wires and plugs and grounds...headlight switch, lots of misc. wires, the hazard switch thinking there might be something there... in the end I pulled the fuse block cleaned it up, and greased the harness plugs.. voila!

Short term goals:
swap in a new CV axle, for the spare I'm currently running - DONE
finish welding on new alignment tabs - DONE

I replaced serpentine belt too, after realizing that mine had over 100K miles on it. Recently heard that a friend's serpentine let go on his FJC. It took out his oil filter bracket and ruined his crankshaft pulley. Caused the front main seal to fail as well. Over $1000 in damage. Dodged that bullet...whew!

Installed the drivers side lower ball joint, its needed it for quite awhile, no more clunking and poping when turning! Yay!

Ordered the front 5.29. Still deciding on what to do for the rear....not sure I want to have a lead on a new install kit and gears, but they are for a V6 third, same guy has a v6 housing too. I was hoping to find another complete third like I found for the front. Even with part from guys who didnt use them (new), when I regeared my 62 it really added up, even with the hookup on getting them setup.

I took mine wheeling at URE:clap::clap::steer::steer::clap::clap:
Also, my PS grar box started leaking from the input shaft:bang::bang::wrench::wrench::clap::clap::steer::steer:

Pulling my pop up to memphis for some roof repairs i stopped at a pilot for gas along 40. After filling up i puller out to the curb so the kids could go get snacks. While i was inside some A$$ hat parked his rider truck literally 2 feet in front of my truck. There was 20 feet of curb in front of him and 30 feet behind me so he did not have to park that close. Well long story short, i cut my wheels hard and backed up a bit to swing out and around. Upon reaching memphis i realized i cut a little to hard and jack knifed the trailer destroying yet another factory FJC rear bumper. This time i am getting a metal one........

on the 40: installed a windshield washer I bought 12 years ago, tracked down and fixed problems with the brake lights, the side marker lights and license plate lights... all were corrosion in the fuse panel from years of sitting.

pulled the rear harness and mapped out every wire.
installed a carb cooling fan, and replaced some missing bolts/screws in the roof

got the ambulance doors balanced and got them to stay closed while driving without using a bungy cord on them.

got the 40 running and on the road

then lost the key

Well it got both lockers working on the Cruiser. And today I got my "test pipes" installed on the cruiser. The cats were a bit old and one turned out to be failing. Now to get my frickin registration sticker and i can drive it again.
