made a winch tray and installed the warn m12000 on the 62,,, way over kill, I know, but I got a great deal on it.

I am going to solder/fix the blunt force trauma cut wires for the remote tonight

Saturday I am moving the control box inside the engine compartment, unless someone here tells me it will get too hot. But I do not like the idea of some fool with a remote being able to crush my roof.

I need to take the gear side off and find why the "free spool" lever does not allow free spool... so now you have my weekend in a nutshell.

Removed the carpet and most of the felt insulation in the back to prepare for the rear storage boxes and sleeping platform.

Spent about 24 hours on Port Royal Sound photographing a couple of residences that we renovated - one was 100 years old and the other a newer "guest house". Amazing property right on the water and fertile hunting grounds back all the way up to the Laurel Bay Naval Area. Too bad I'll never get to stay there.

That's pretty cool.

made the tacoma earn its share this weekend. Loaded 72 12x12 patio pavers and 25 bags of sand/gravel. First time the front end was higher than the back end. Truck normally has stink bug.

I'll be DD'ing the 62 for the week while the wife's car gets fixed. Plans for this summer for it: Install the rub rails/sliders, new junk yard leather seats, desmog, and hopefully in the next few weeks, rear armor with dual swing outs and quarter protection.

That's funny. my silver Taco is about to get the same treatment. I am grading my backyard, and install underground drains and building a patio with all new sod. She is going to get a workout this spring in addition to doing towing duty for the 40 and the backhoe.:steer:

I just wish my truck had the TSB rear springs. After loading 500#'s she is already on the bumpstops. I am just waiting until the wife says something about it so I can get a new lift and "fix" it.

The truck had the rear TSB done when i got it. With no weight in the back it sits about 6 inches from the tire. With all of the weight this weekend, it dropped to about an 1 above the tire weighed down. Sod is up next for me in a few weeks with i finish the patio. I did start getting a nice chirping noise from the blower motor this weekend. Alway something to do...

Let me know your fix for that. Mine has been doing that as well. Kind of more like a constant hum, or something.

Jeremy

I didnt touch the Cruiser this weekend but I did get the motor installed in the M38a1.

I got a free M38a1 in December. I am putting a Suzuki Sidekick 1.6L fuel injected motor with 5 speed tranny and Tcase in the Jeep. I hope to get the motor up an running by June. :)

Nice little motor. Better than stock, and much more interesting than all the other engine swaps I see in these things. Keep it low and light, with some 35's and it will be sweet. What are your plans for axles, Yota or stock?

Jeremy

as of now I am keeping it wth 33s. I am using the stock jeep Dana 25 and dana 44 axles. They are already geared 5.38s and I ahve a lockrite for the 44 already. I have abused the early jeep axles before and they survive pretty good. I am going to disc brake the front. I already swapped out all springs for XJ rear springs so it is going to be real comfy on the road. I can go to the 35s If i get real bored, i will hog out the fenders before I go with more lift. It sits perfect right now with only the XJ springs and the built in 1 inch lift I put on the spring mounts I made.

Ordered a new rack and high lift from steve. Will be here in a couple weeks. Also I am adding a tranny cooler to the FJ since I will be towing a pop-up to Colorado this summer. Just need to get the transmission fluid to flush the system so I can add the cooler.

Absolutely NOTHING. I am in the position of "the shoemaker's kid needs new shoes" I have not touched my 60 aside from removing the existing winch mout off the front frame rails. At this point I have nothing to wheel so I need to make some time and work on it.

Well the 80 finally broke down on me today. Blew the phi coming back from High Point. Managed to limp her into a gas station and let her cool off. Filled the radiator back up and she is home now. Looks like I'll be tackling the phi and some other radiator hoses this weekend. Have to say not bad for her first breakdown in 260,000 miles.

I got in on the Metal-Tech group buy for ICON coil-overs (20% off!) and swapped them out this past weekend. The improvement is pretty amazing and the install was a breeze. The most astounding part was how worn out my old OME stuff was.

The new coilovers are preset to 2" over stock. When I installed them, I got back another inch of lift. And because they are adjustable I leveled out the cruiser-lean by two threads on the driver side. The OME "heavy" springs had sagged at least an inch over the last 2-3 years.

The old struts were completely toast and the springs were loose once removed from the truck. Typically you would need a spring compressor to safely disassemble the spring from the strut assembly. But all I had to do was remove the top nut holding it all together - the springs were no longer under any preload, because the internal stops in the struts were gone and the entire strut was over extended.

Rick, you are making me want to upgrade. I put the pig in the GARAGE this week!!! I took delivery from the car hauler on Tuesday and she immediately went into the garage. Nice to be able to do that again. I also drove the FJ for a while because my DD wasn't here either. It was nice to get back behind the wheel. Many thanks to Cat and Rick for taking such good care of her while they kept her.

You have run that rig pretty hard for sure, and you haven't even broken a T-case output shaft :) My heavy foot was the culprit. Amazing how a new set of shocks and springs can wake up a rig. Same with all suspension bushings.

Hows the Wagoneer doing these days?
