John, I considered that! the shards are pretty sharp right now, would have to sand those edges down. I still have cuts on my fingers from handling it.

a pic of the pinion

Just loaded up my Pig for a weekend of wheeling in the north GA mountains at the Southern Appalachian Expedition put on by SOLAROS (Southern Land Rover Society). :grinpimp:

It's gonna be a pretty cool (make that freakin' freazing) event. Lows in the mid to lower 20's and the possibility of snow.

The best part is I broke the DC plug on my fridge tonight moving it from my FJC to the Pig....

You'll have a good time with them. Went to that event last year. Bring money... they auction off some VERY cool stuff for charity. I had lot's of plans this weekend... all got shot down by some family business :crybaby:

Do they have a link to this thing??

Just PM smittycrusher. Ironically, I think he organized this trip. I hear lots of them own LC's too and are bringing them instead of their Rovers :D

Steve, you wont need the fridge if its gonna be that cold anyway.

Wish I could make it too, but I'll be putting my junk back together this weekend. Plus I gotta put 500 miles on the new gears before I can (ab)use them.

I was planning on going but as usual, not happening

did some more measurements for BumpItOffroad front bumper with signals and offroad lights for Mike to make sure it will work for Lexus LX470 in addition to the LC he already supports. :D :D :D

Also found out my rear bumper with swingouts went to powdercoat this week. :D

I went last year, and they love Cruisers. I'll also say, some of those Rovers make me drool! Don't have the skills, patience, time, garage space, or money to own one right now, but a nice 110 someday would be pretty cool.

Have a great time. I was suppose to be there; but with a down truck and Melissa's soccer, it was not in the cards.
Checking out the trucks is a lot of the fun to me, My favorites are Jack's diesel D90 and Mike's military surplus D110, but I also like David Porter's long wheel Series with the camper top conversion (sorry forgot the term they have for this model).

Battery started dragging when cold weather hit...so had it checked and was bad.

New Sears Diehard Platinum now installed....lots of power...as I did not want to find it completely dead up in mountains this weekend. LOL $189 for battery.

Usually once you loose one tooth it starts breaking more off.

Most likely that was caused from just one tooth breaking.

Is that the front?

You gonna get all your crap back together to hit the trail this weekend?

Wow...think positive, at least it didn't lock up going down I85 or I75

I'm very lucky indeed. It went clank-bang just outside our parking lot on the way to the ACC Fall Invitational. I would love to have it back together by tomorrow, but still expecting a couple innards to arrive. I also have to run 500 easy miles on the gears and then change the fluids before I can wheel it.

And that's the rear pinion in the pictures. The front R/P was fine, but we discovered worn bearings once it was apart.

Since I'm not wheeling, I'm riding shotgun with Dugan from ACC to the Swap Meet on Saturday.

waaaay much more funner with it full of gas....lets see 25 x 8.6 = :bang:
