What did you do with your truck this week?

Flushed the radiator and replaced all radiator and heater hoses in the pickup. Also did an oil change, have a mysterious leak in the front. Headed to the mountains today with the family in the 80.

The 40 got mini-truck power steering, drives nicely... Now I just need those other 3 shackles from MAF and it won't lean to one side...

Got my Ruffstuff/Blue Torch Fab traction bar fabbed up fima;;y and then took a dip in my brothers hot tub until 3am.:grinpimp:

I may be a little late to swap.:)

Congrats Jay on the PS install. That was the best mod I did on the 40.

Got my re-gearing finished off yesterday and everything plugged back in. It's nice to have some power again. Now I only have to figure out why the "VSC Off" light won't go out. Other than that I ran through all the gear ranges and locker/ATRAC settings and everything works. If VSC is indeed off, I'm not upset because it was kinda annoying anyway. Taking off from a start on a gravel drive way onto paved road and it would just stall because of a little wheel spin...meanwhile, you're halfway out in the roadway at that point, wishing it would just get on with it.

Received my Fumoto oil drain valve earlier and got my BumpItOffroad rear bumper with integrated receiver hitch, rear quarter side wings for behind rear tires and integrated lower skid plates to tie it into main bumper and brace the side rails...tire swingout with hi-lift and cb antennae mount, modular jerry can mount, etc.

Hope to have all installed this weekend. :D :D

With the help of a forum friend (1911) and Daniel P (who experienced crazy ADD/tcase issues a while back) I got my ADD actuator fixed. Turns out the motor that drives the worm gear is not soldered to the electrical contacts, so if it gets banged around enough (say from dropping your front diff to regear) then the contacts don't touch anymore. Daniel had his old one sitting on his spares shelf and sure enough, it was in the same condition. So he soldered it up, resealed it and we replaced mine with his. Just like that all my 4WD issues went away. He kept mine to solder and put back on his spares shelf.

Here's what the actuator looks like inside, notice the brass contacts coming out of the motor are simply designed to touch the electrical leads, and the one on the right is actually not touching.

Started building the operation table....going to rebuild the tcase so I can replace the tranny and tcase in the 60 so I can have all 4 gears again.....the table will be indestructable!

Installed my new STC top.:bounce::bounce:

It's Hartz black with tinted windows and 2 piece doors. And no it doesn't look like a Heep top like the Bestop ones.:clap:

Fixed a rear heater leak on the 80 and replaced most of the heater hoses in the process. PHH is next. I did all this after being up for 24 hrs and hopped up on energy drink. ;) Sure was glad to sleep last night and have the 80 back going.

Changed oil and oil filter (AMSOIL 5w-30) and cleaned air filter (Amsoil)...and installed a Fumoto valve to replace the oil pan drain bolt.

Finished install of bumper....tapped into trailering harness for Running Lights and Ground for license plate light...fine tuned locking hasps...checked bolts.

Finished building the operation table....began operation with disection of the transfer case from the transmission....went very well getting it apart and the inside looked great....now to get the rebuild kit and put it back together and put it back on the other transmission.....then into the 60.

Installed a second Super QuickFist in my FJC to more securely hold my CO2 tank.

Also got ready to pull my OEM roof rack on the FJC to install a Expedition series Baja Rack for a soon to be added roof top tent.

Ran into a guy with a pretty good looking 40 at the gas station yesterday. Got to talking to him and he said he's had this FJ for about 3 years. Bought it from some scallywag boat captain down in Florida :p Has a SB350 in it that he finished tuning and is about ready to dive into fixing the sheet metal. He bought the soft top from a fellow 40 owner in his neighborhood (has a green 40, but couldn't remember a name).

That thing's the same color as mine, I have a 350 SBC, and I too, am a scalywag boat captain down in Florida. Just want everyone to know I still have mine.:steer:

Oh, and I did something with it this weekend. First time in a long time. I replaced my damaged York compressor with one I picked up earlier this summer. Doing my best to get her ready for GSMTR '11.....

Took the family out in the Taco for some farm cruising out at Harmons to cut down our first family tree in the new house. I had never heard of this place, but it was AWESOME. We didn't want a fur tree this year so we set out for something grown locally. We found a nice 9' Cypress tucked away way in the back of the 15+ acre farm and cut it down with the help of my little man. We then headed back up to get it packed up and buy a tree stand while the wife and son enjoyed the kids fun land, and petting zoo. They even had a cafe with drinks, food and fudge. You really should check it out if you live in the area, it is in Lexington right passed the High School.

I even saw ROLDS there with his built 80, but waited around to get a chance to see him in the truck to say hey. Never saw him so he must have packed up and left while we were out in the "bush".:)

I'll post some videos of the farm in a bit.
