I hit the beach.

Worked on the engine bay, a bit on the interior trim, prepped to install bumpers next week, and inspected the undercarriage grommets. Word.

I replaced my water pump...hit a snag getting the old one out, had to use the jam nut method to remove a stud. Besides being a filthy dirty messy job it went pretty well. Although longer than I told the princes that it would be...it always takes longer, a guy has to clean up the dirty bits as he goes ;)

Once that was done and I could see the end of the tunnel I started to replace the thermostat. That is where I stopped. Broke 2 studs off in the lower housing and found broken the water temperature sensor. Suck!!! Not sure if this is even available any more need to call Beno and place an order on Monday. I am soaking the bolts in penetrating oil and hope I can get them.

I recently found a lower - let me know if you're looking and I'll ck for the link again.

Whellp, last fall I placed a can of Arizona greentea in the spot between the cupholders and the ebrake lever, stopped at the post office and pulled the lever.... Psssss goes the can, and in panic mode I released ebrake, lifted can up spraying all that sugary water into the a/c and other dash controls before I could get the can out the door.
Sooo yesterday was spent carefully disassembling, cleaning and repairing the minor plastic breakage, vacuuming out the dash innards of the doghair, checking all the tiny bulbs and reassembled.

I did the same thing last summer with a Monster.. I was not happy!

Pretty productive weekend.
I finished my traction bar (other than paint) and switched a leaf from my rear springs to the front to help reduce body roll and level out my stance. It turned out nice.

Here are some pics. There are more in my build thread.

Took it easy; dropped the spare to assess the condition of the tire and the rim (hadn't done that since purchasing). I think the rim is an original - tire was in better condition than I expected, but its significantly smaller than the tires on the truck so I will have to get a new spare (which I anticipated).

Also verified that the Toyota jack seems to work. Looking forward to installing some lights next month.
