Playing around with tires and rims to get a feel for different sizes. The upper picture is BFG Mud Terrain TA/KM 35 x 12.5 x 17 on Steelies. The lower picture is ProComp All terrain 33 X 12.5 x 17 on Enkei Aluminum.

Between my 60 and my 40 I have several sets of tires and rims laying around so I am experimenting. The BFG are too aggressive and noisy for daily driver use but sure are nice for crawling back into the rocky mountains of SE Arizona and anything else off road. The procomps are much more quiet and wheel nice on rocky back roads but I think a shade to short. Not good for wheeling on loose gravel on steep sections. BFG set up probably weighs at least 20 lb. more per wheel so less weight to spring around and brake with

I'm thinking something in the 34 inch range and I want a bit more narrow tire in the 11.5 to 12 inch range. I have a H55 and geared at 4.88 with lockers so I am not concerned about off road wheeling ratios but on the highway so the smaller size of the procomps are almost too low geared. At 3000 RPM the BFGs will roll 73 MPH actual, 78 indicated, in 5th gear. Haven't had the Procomps out on the highway yet but will soon. Grimjeeper.com is damned accurate for predicting these things I think.

Was this guy there? From Ft. Walton, FL. Met him on I-65 last Thursday.

Yup, sure was! Wheeled and worked on cutting trails with him and the others both Friday and Saturday. That 80 can really go..... I think my favorite part of his rig might be those orange hooks on the front bumper though!

It's Friday and it's my weekend since I'm off today, finally passed Smog here in CA. :D It was a long time coming need a carb rebuild, fix the intake and exhaust manifolds, and fixed various bits of hose and valves.
All numbers look good with the exception of CO on the 15 mph test that almost didn't pass , so need to figure that one out for the future.

Started the repair of my center console. The mounting holes were cracked and is has never been solid.
Cut pieces of lexan to fit in the bottom. Then drilled holes and put new longer screws through the holes. It act like a huge washer an I love it! Next I will get some black rubber and cut pads to fit the bottoms. But so far I am loving it!

Projects list finally starting to come to a close....got the interior door panels done. The inserts had me nervous (ie not being straight). Very happy with how they came out.

Now I might end up pulling them apart again and painting the latch black.....i've gotten rid of just about every piece of chrome possible....not sure.

Crap J, if u couldn't get it to work there's little hope for me to.

Finally got around to doing my oil change as I have found that every 4 months seems to be best for BeBe. She leaks quite a bit so this saves me from continuously adding oil (measured what she gave up and I was about a qt low). Love that Rotella is now making a 10w30 variant of the T, BeBe seems to like that better than the 15w40 I had been using and been throwing in a bottle (16oz) of Rislone ZDDP engine oil additive. Noticed when I did the oil change that she smoked excessively out of the tail pipe until I went for a drive? That has me a bit stumped and/or worried.

New wheels arrived. 16x8 eagle alloy 100 series. After years of waiting. Thanks to those that moved forward with said purchases and verified compatibility. Now....time to select the rubber.
