Could you tell the difference in perceived heat or light intensity?Replaced the lousy ghetto tint with ceramic at my local detailer. They did a superb job at an amazing price!

I’m in Kent and I have yet to find a cruiser shop around here. There are some “high end” shops that are trying to cater to the crowd that wants a vintage 4x4 to show up at the local farmers market….There must be more 60's in CT! there's plenty of rich people down by NY with antiques ! lol Know of any good cruiser shops or anyone who has knowledge on these things? Im in eastern CT
I took my garbage 90s tint off and had it done in LLumar IRX Ceramic tint before SAS last year and it is night and day difference in heat reduction inside the truck. Light coming in isn't as harsh and again, the heat reduction is incredible for these old trucks. AC keeps me cool in 100*+ heat all day long.Could you tell the difference in perceived heat or light intensity?
When I drove home yesterday with ambient around 85 it felt a little cooler but I’ll have a better sense of the effectiveness on my drive out to Colorado in 2 weeks.Could you tell the difference in perceived heat or light intensity?
My 60 is completely bare at the moment. I'm debating leaving it completely 'fish bowl' or take the tinty plunge. When I drove home yesterday with ambient around 85 it felt a little cooler but I’ll have a better sense of the effectiveness on my drive out to Colorado in 2 weeks.
That’s great to hear. I did mine in Global Ceramic QDP 50%. Price was ~500 for all side and rear windows plus removal of the old tint.I took my garbage 90s tint off and had it done in LLumar IRX Ceramic tint before SAS last year and it is night and day difference in heat reduction inside the truck. BTW, you are my hero, you got a performance award (speeding ticket) on the autobahn in a 60, that’s legendary and needs to be framedMy 60 is completely bare at the moment. I'm debating leaving it completely 'fish bowl' or take the tinty plunge.
Wow, that’s a great price. I’d definitely dive in for that. In Austin I’ve seen around 850-1100 so maybe pretty much, hell no.That’s great to hear. I did mine in Global Ceramic QDP 50%. Price was ~500 for all side and rear windows plus removal of the old tint.
Mine was $1000 with the windshield also which makes a big difference. I highly recommend doing the windshield in ceramic also if you're doing it for heat rejection.Wow, that’s a great price. I’d definitely dive in for that. In Austin I’ve seen around 850-1100 so maybe pretty much, hell no.
I do have to go to dallas for the week, maybe I’ll fish around up there?
That’s good to know, My windshield might be getting replaced soon which is why I held off on that.Mine was $1000 with the windshield also which makes a big difference. I highly recommend doing the windshield in ceramic also if you're doing it for heat rejection.
Yeah, I’d go whole enchilada for sure.Mine was $1000 with the windshield also which makes a big difference. I highly recommend doing the windshield in ceramic also if you're doing it for heat rejection.
Very good point. That’s good to know, My windshield might be getting replaced soon which is why I held off on that.
Well for reference, the AC is my truck is OK but my back would always sweat on drives in the summer, like going to GSMTR in June. With the tint now, I drove cross country in 90-110* heat doing long days on the highway with no sweat, no discomfort. The ceramic makes it so much nicer to drive. Plus you can get rid of those driving sleeves if you go ceramic since the nice tints block 99% of UV.Yeah, I’d go whole enchilada for sure.
Getting ready for SAS and the extended trip after and my wife’s (native Texan) biggest fear is how hot it will be in the truck.
I did buy some driving sleeves as my arm took quite a beating on the trip with my boy last month.
My AC works as good as these can I’d guess, but that really only benefits the front folk. If I can find a decent deal I’ll definitely do it. Need to head off any disappointment that I can.Well for reference, the AC is my truck is OK but my back would always sweat on drives in the summer, like going to GSMTR in June. Believe me, I've thought about framing it.BTW, you are my hero, you got a performance award (speeding ticket) on the autobahn in a 60, that’s legendary and needs to be framed![]()
You can do clear ceramic if you like the fish bowl but want some extra UV protection. The one I got on mine blocks 93% of UVMy 60 is completely bare at the moment. I'm debating leaving it completely 'fish bowl' or take the tinty plunge.
