What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

Installed a “Heavy Duty” fan clutch from @cruiseroutfit and tested it by driving into Manhattan during rush hour on Friday night. Ambient was around 86F and had the AC running too. Overall, I seem to be running 4-5 degrees F cooler on this initial test in stop and go with the AC blasting.

FF80 swap started yesterday.
Got a few hours in the garage today to get the perches on and axle centered up. That took the longest by far. Jack it up, loosen u bolts and adjust, measure and eyeball, set it back down, eyeball, repeat. I got the new axle sitting on the springs before I ran out of time for the day.

I've also been trying to get this Lingenfelter pwm fan controller working right. The start and max temps and outputs are not making any sense to me. I've got it wired into the same temp sensor as my ECU, but I can't get the thing to start the PWM unless it's set to 90°F or lower. If I set the max temp to anything other than 110°F it also won't turn on. I've tried changing dip switch settings, moving grounds, checking resistance of the temp sensor input and everything checks out and nothing changes.

Lingenfelter is talking to me like I'm an idiot. Beyond frustrating. If anyone has any experience with these things I'd love to hear from you.

Not really a fan of putting European stuff on Japanese cars, so I found some Japanese horns to install. PIAA > Hella.
Ive finally got working horns in my truck. There's a large tunnel where I live where everyone honks inside of and my daughter gets a kick out of it. My truck sounded a little crazy so it was time to upgrade.

One of my 2 original horns was completely not working and the other one that was working sounded like a dying animal. These horns sound pretty Japanese vehicle appropriate and are super loud.

Yeah ... we're gonna need a YouTube video of those.

On it.

Here is the horns on my truck, videos a little short.

Heres the video that I used to choose between the range of horns. I was between these "slender horns" and the "superior bass" horns. The slender ones I personally think sound better.

They almost sound more like the “Oto style” from the second video. Good stuff though, I like them.

Thank you for posting! This is an important safety upgrade and glad to see it all worked out!

Any changes needed to wiring (relays) or mounting location?

Agreed! Its one of those things i always put off and said id do next week haha

nope! There isnt a relay on the wiring on the 60 series. You just pull out the metal connectors from your 60 series plastic connectors and connect power to power and ground to ground on the horns and its done. Took like 5 minutes. On mine, the power wire was the one with the orange stripe. I did put some heat shrink on the connectors so it would be protected. The horns mounted in the same holes the stock horns mounted in

Don't you love when a modification goes so smoothly. Rare!

Do you happen to have measurements now that you have done the axle perches? Going to be doing this in about a week or 2 and would be nice to save myself some time. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a link? I type in the specs from the photo, but keeps pointing me to sport...sigh.
Thank you!
