I cant put in my new carpet until I fix the floor rust and the leak into the passenger foot well. So today I removed the 40+ bolts to get the fender off. I am continually impressed by the lack of rust on this 40 year old toyota. I only broke one of the small bolts on the front. As expected, the funnel drain was packed full.

Driving river shuttle last week and Grace lost power. O2 readings were lean about 15.6, but I had a black cloud rolling out of the tail pipe. Ordered 2 Bosch units (one as a spare) and realized I placed the O2 sensor too close to the collector.

I abandoned the old one and welded in a new bung hole 8" down stream and at a better angle. The old sensor was not going to come out anyhow. They come with anti-seize pre applied, but not enough it seems. I hope this fixes some of the moodiness it has had since the install.

Finally built some rock sliders for my 62, should've done it years ago and maybe my right side rocker wouldn't be smashed in, lots of rock around here. They're nothing fancy but super strong, you can jack the whole side of the cruiser up from them. I moved the exhaust in board of the frame so I didn't have to work around it.

Nice!! Did you drill and Tap the frame to install studs for mounting?

That is an awesome sight in a driveway. Is the 4runner being kicked to the corner?
Driveway was a bit tight to add the wife's 4Runner to the pic, but it still photobombed the shot. So happy she chose it over the new MDX she also looked at!

Some day long in the future when someone else owns your truck, they will post a thread on mud asking about a dual bung O2 sensor set up that a PO botched... and we will all get a good laugh. I’m into long term practical jokes. I dig it.

Got it all buttoned up, climbed back under to cut the wires off the abandoned one and cut the wires off the new one instead. OMG! I can't believe I could be so stupid! So much for having a spare.. I'll be pissed at myself for quite awhile after that move.

I’m glad you have the balls to leave that here for posterity’s sake. 🤣

WIP but...... my son and I pulled the tranny & transfercase in prep for a reseal. Its leaked a little gear oil as long as I've owned it, and it just turned into a big leak around the tranny input shaft.

We opened everything up to discover: not a single gasket in the transfercase. Everything was permatex with no paper/cork gaskets anywhere. <facepalm>

No wonder I was leaking. New gaskets and seals from Cruiser Outfitters and I have one bearing to replace. Hoping to get it a back together and running around with one more weekend of work....
