Yeah, the shackles were on upside down. We did flip them before it went home along with a lot of other small details like an ashtray eliminator and we filled an old unused hole that was cut by a previous owner with something useful. The voltmeter on the ashtray is on a double pole momentary switch. Toggling right to left allows him to check battery voltages on his two batteries while camping with the fridge running. We added an LED dome light and 12v socket.
There was a square hole cut in the dash for a really cheap rectangular toggle that wasn't connected to
anything so we made the hole round and plugged a voltmeter that works off keyed power to monitor
the alternator output.
This truck has a full float rear, F/R air lockers, 2F with GM fuel injection. We built a whole new engine bay harness full of relays, breakers and wiring blocks, dual batteries, etc. The early harnesses didn't have the wire size or enough circuits to do what we needed so most of the current is handled outside the cab.
There are both unswitched and relay driven switched bus bars.

In the last couple weeks:
Built & installed a used H55 & t-case.
New Toyota FJ45 1T clutch.
Changed oils.
Stuffed it with camping gear and 4wheeling stuff.
Drove 400 blissfully uneventful miles to CMCC at 65-70MPH, getting 14.x MPG
Wheeled for 2 solid days, no breakage, no stuckage.
Drove 400 uneventful miles home.
Next project: crush this rusty body & frame and move everything to a clean high mileage FJ6x body.

Used it on some pretty serious climbs on the east side of Bear Lake. Looking for the U of U seismograph on Black mountain but no luck. Will go back in a few weeks. It was a hazy day. Bear lake far below.

Yep, my mistake.
Didn't do it this weekend, but several weekends ago.
Turned on the frying pan and cooked up some bacon.
Why? because I prepped my engine bay to get the galley plug done but couldn't find any tapping oil. I did the next best thing, did a google search and they said animal fat would do fine!!!
Prepped my M8 tap with bacon grease....
and proceeded....
worked great!!! was real careful not to snap the tap, and used lotsa BACON grease!! Now I don't need to worry about the Galley plug!!

That just feels right on so many levels....although your 60 will never have a Bar mitzvah.
My first time! Things went swimmingly. Thanks to the wealth of knowledge on the forum I really had no hang ups other than needing new brake lines and a second gallon of degreaser in the middle of the job. Oh and the bleeder screw seized on my driver side caliper when I was bleeding the brakes. I just bought a new one in the end. Onto the clutch!

I have since found out right near here was called the Fenn Cache of 1902. One of the finest collections at one site of prehistoric Clovis Points.
Winched a friends tractor of a teetering culvert, rigged and winched some trees against their favor, and dragged several tons/trailer loads of white pine to a "stump dump"
