Oooh boy, fun updates. This truck is starting to come together!
First, I need to give a huge shout out to Kyle at Treaty Oak Off-road. I sent an email asking about the specs for the bolts in the KDSS spacer kit. Mine started to rust pretty badly. Wanted to snag new hardware ahead of some suspension work. Kyle replied by shipping me a new set of hardware that day! Can’t beat that kind of service - absolutely above and beyond what I could have asked for. Thank you, Kyle!
Did a new serpentine belt during my lunch break and…
Got the LenzDesign snorkel installed. I’m torn on this product. I am very happy with the end result, but I’m really unhappy with the quality of the tube that connects the snorkel to the air box as well as the template provided. This one is on me, though, because these issues were called out all over the forum. I took a gamble because I love how this snorkel looks, but the install was a massive pain in the ass, and I have some gnarly holes (all covered by the snorkel) due to the template being imperfect.

Lastly, started working with a shop recommended by @GXO for an exhaust overhaul. Going with the Doug Thorley short tube headers, new oem cats, Doug Thorley Y-pipe, and then the Magnaflow catback (unless the shop recommends something else after some research). This one will be a ways out since the shop is moving and won’t be doing new work until end of October. So…just in time for a birthday present to myself, lol.
So stoked to see this build really come together. Would not have happened without all the help from folks on this forum. Never turned a wrench prior to owning this truck, and all the info y’all share has helped me feel comfortable working on this on my own.
I had to trim the corner off of the latch side tube support that I welded to the frame. The pivot side was high enough it didn’t interfere. The clearances are all super tight.@Toyoland66 are you going to be putting your stock bumper skin back on?
*** edited*** never mind just saw the latest pics... looks like you are barely clearing the cover... looks very nice and clean. I love how clean the hinge side of the bumper cut is!
My buddy and I did similar arms as to what you did and we found that his was mounted a tad low and rubs on the bumper skin a tad. So when we did mine we mounted the arm up higher to get enough clearance.
It looks very good and those welds are nice looking!!!
Where is that. Definitely reminds me of Missouri. We took our camper out for the last planned weekend of the year and got in a bit of backroads exploring (nothing too difficult, but beautiful). Despite it being a bit of a dust bowl here, it's probably the nicest fall we've ever had.

Water is looking pretty low. I do miss driving through the river valleys and the ozarks in fallGood eye. Shannon County, Missouri.
It hasn't really rained much in over a month. The rivers are pretty low for sure, but it has been day after day of 60-70 degrees, sunshine, and low humidity. Paradise other than the dust.Water is looking pretty low. I do miss driving through the river valleys and the ozarks in fall
Keep us in the loop on how it turns out!I bought this for my GX today. I’d been eyeing the ACC Becky for the last year, but just couldn’t resist getting roughly (I hope) the same product for half the cost. View attachment 3144444
Just keep an eye. That is just what JW did and found out that you HAVE to build in a support for the weight of the door or it will crack the hinges out of the body in short order. Don't leave your door open, shim the hinges, add the striker mod on the latch side, get an interior handle release in case you have to force it open, and think about how to add a support for the door. THAT is why the Becky costs more. There is way more into it than a simple bolt through mount.I bought this for my GX today.
