We took the family for a picnic and short hike in the National Forest. This was the first actual use of the rear door table for cooking. It was much easier than dragging everything to a picnic table.

Difference in output is huge. Night driving is vastly improved.

Unit comes built in with Carplay (wired and wireles) and Android Auto. Steering wheel buttons work, and you can set them to do a variety of functions in the headunit. Audio sounds quite good. I have a backup camera I still need to install, although I did run the wire so that I can avoid taking the headunit back out unless I absolutely need to, because the wood trim is very brittle and easy to break.

Happy to answer any questions on the headunit and install. For the money, it's well worth it and a huge upgrade over the stock AM/FM/CD/cassette. The unit also looks great and like it belongs there. It seems well built, and is truly plug and play. no modifications needed to make this one work.

Replaced my disintegrating chrome window trim with black Prado trim. This install was a bit of a pain to do compared to other vehicles I've changed trim on in the past, but the result is well worth it. I used this excellent walkthough to do the job, which also includes the part numbers you'l need.

I ordered the trim from www.partsouq.com and shipping only took a couple days. Will be using them for other Toyota parts in the future.

Desert Does It seat jackers FRONT SEAT JACKERS® (2003-2021 4RUNNERS, GX, AND FJ) - https://desertdoesit.com/products/front-seat-jackers-2002-2009-4runners

At $180 for both front seats, I'd say these are a bit expensive for what they are, but the improvement in comfort and leg support is significant. At 6'3", the stock seating position was a bit uncomfortable for me, and had the sensation of leaning forward. I like to have the seat bottom angled as high at the front of the seat as possible, and these seat jackers allow me to accomplish that. I'd say that the improved seating position is well worth the cost of entry.

First weekend with the new GX so I had some time to clean up, maintain and fix a few little issues.

First up was an oil change with Motul 5w30 and a Toyota oil filter. Replaced the old and dirty K&N with a Toyota air filter. After, I washed it inside and out, installed new white LED license plate bulbs, removed the black spray paint from the front Lexus emblem and lastly cut off the rear mudflaps. Next up I'll be lowering the front end a touch to even the truck out.

@VoltaGX looks great!

What's current suspension setup?

Bought it, while on vacation in Florida, and drove it 1500 miles home to Wisconsin. Really fun trip and the GX rides like a dream.

I am so close to making this purchase. The price has me second guessing myself, though it seems everyone who has one, is happy with them so far. It's been a while since I've bought and installed my own stereo equipment, but back when I did, the cheap stuff was just that... I really hope it turns out to be a great unit, because it would be nice to spend less than $400 instead of close to $1k.

Plus, I have a Bel Biv DeVoe tape in the dashboard, for the nostalgia. :D

I'm very happy with it so far, and it is solid for the price. In my opinion, this was a better move for me than spending 50% more for a 2" smaller screen just so I could have a familiar brand name. I don't care much about car audio (home audio is a different story), but to my ears the Joying sounds decent. The EQ presets are not bad, either.

Installed new wheels and tires yesterday and thrilled with the result!

Slight rub when turning in reverse, but could probably be easily remedied by massaging the liners a bit. I'll have to take a look this weekend.

Next up this weekend: removing running boards, and completing headunit install (I only ran the rear camera wire part way) with the addition of a rear camera.

When we bought our GX about a week ago, the owners handed us a bag o' reminders what the first purchase should be: GXOR Titanium reinforced key

Does this system require any additional wire harnesses?

Completed an Eibach Pro lift along with Blackhawk Upper Control Arms, Kyb strut mounts, and Moog stabilizer bar links.

Also had a Flowmaster Super 50 muffler installed along with the two downstream cats and O2 Sensors.

Got a sound clip of the flowmaster? I'm thinking of doing a 40 series
