Looks great, I just ordered the OME's as well, what size tire do you think you could get to without ripping into it? Also how did you do the grill, Paint, plasti or other. Thanks.

Thanks! Too many variables when it comes to tires and wheels to really answer that question. Decide what wheels and tires you want and then find some one with the same lift and that should give you a good idea.

As far as the grill I sprayed it with dupilcolor semi gloss after sanding it with 800 grit then spraying duplicolor Matte clear coat. 3-4 coats of each.

Did the 8020 rack mod with stock rails. Should be sufficient for what I need for now. View attachment 1772270
that's rad! Did you insert more nuts in the factory rails? Length and spec of the 80/20s? that's simple and brilliant, kind of the perfect base tie-in I've been trying to come up with for an awning.

*EDIT NM, I see the specs, thanks**

Here are the exact parts I ordered from 8020.net. Also need the 10/20 or 10/30 extruded aluminum. Mine was cut to 39.750".

So, the rest of the suspension parts arrived today. Oh happy day! Now to schedule time for the install...

Kids chalk is complimentary

They were spot on BUT pretty tight to slide on. So I ended up dropping them between the rails and then attaching the screws to 10/30. If they were a bit shorter you could slide them in from the rear like the stock cross bars.

I'm planning to buy the roll in nuts to attach stuff. See this thread here. You can get the roll in nuts on 8020.net, ebay, tnutz.com, etc. How to add accessories to rack w/o having to unbolt crossbars or drill access holes

You could potentially have them counter-bore your 10/30 so then you can slide in bolts or attachments that way but I decided not to do that.
the tnutz are quite a bit le$$ than 8020, and tnutz appears to have harware and brackets as well, not nearly the variety, same with bars, BUT enough and perfect for this application !!

yours looks like the 15 series (1.5") and I'm assuming the 1545 (3 slot)..
EX-1545 – 1.5″ x 4.5″ Smooth T-Slotted Aluminum Extrusion – NEW | TNUTZ | TNUTZ

Is this the route you went?

I'll check out that referenced thread a bit more as well. Thanks again for sharing
!!

3319 in the bars and 3386 in the rails? All slide in? (ergo, plan ahead ;) ) the roll in looks good for future needs

Yeah both slide in. One slides into the 10/30 and the other slides into the stock rails. The 15-series link you sent will be too big. Even with the 10-series there's barely a gap between rails and roof. tnutz has everything except for the 10-15 corner brackets.

Are the 10/15 corner brackets just 10 series brackets with a larger diameter hole on one side? I'm planning on buying clear anodized so I could save some money on the brackets by drilling out the 10 series myself.

EDIT: I confirmed the dimensions on the 8020 site. I will buy the 10 series brackets from tnutz and drill out a hole to .328 (21/64 bit?).

Just did the first oil change for us. Installed Fumoto valve while I was there. Draining was easy with UVP as there is a cutout for it. The oil filter held more than I recall, but the PO, or dealer, installed a MOPAR filter (?). Also installed the wiper nozzles mod. Can they also be used on the rear windshield?

Yep, the hole is just bigger on one side of the 10/15 corner bracket. If you drill make sure its centered, I had a hard time getting both bolts in on some of the bracket due to the size of the bolt heads.

Glad I could be inspiration! Yeah I'm a bunch of projects behind on my build thread and photo album... Will update those soon.

Well, I cracked into it tonight. A few boxes arrived and it’s time to get to work prepping this thing to pass safety and e-test so I can drive it...

Fixed the front turn signals. Both sides blown bulbs. Replaced te front and rear wiper blades. Quick and easy. Fabbed a battery hold down, didn’t have one when I bought it. Pretty straight forward. Swapped the air filter and cabin filter. Might be the first change in its life. Cleaned up the rotors, dirtied up my arms, and started lubing/soaking all the bolts/brake line connections that will need to come apart.

Still a decent list of items to go, but it’s a start!

Is that a second battery mount?

Nah, dual batteries are later down the road. This is a mount for the primary and some goodies to bolt on the side. I didn’t have a battery mount or tie-down since we bought the truck last month. They even cut the fender ground cable for some wacky reason. Actually installed it today!

Replaced the cracked drivers side mirror glass, replaced the 2 improperly installed CV boot clamps (so loose I thought they were not there), installed new rear brake pads, passenger front pads, and discovered the drivers side caliper has one seized piston... doh. So, ordered a caliper!

Thought I found a super cheap replacement core for the rear wiper motor, casing matched, but the guts were just not quite the same... :c(

Nothing sexy but funny. I was driving in a decent wind and lightning storm (rain hadnt started yet) and seriously a partially filled restaurant sized box of cups comes dancing down the road snaking back and forth between lanes. So I start to slow down, sure enough right in front of me. right at that time some ass hole behind me is honking, about a half second later he figured out why I slowed like that when that box got kicked into his windshield. I am quite impressed how much that box got crunched, couldnt see any damage at night will look tomorrow I dont expect any it drove 30 more miles fine.

@teejnut
one more question. Do you have, have you tried to mount a box on it? I see there's like 0.5" clearance from roof to bottom of rail in center, as such, is there room for a roof box's clamps around th bar w/o contacting the roof? I suspect it's okay just barely, as there'd be more clearance closer to the sides... just curious, as i build my questions before pulling the trigger.
