After a similar injector removal experience I realized a slide hammer-like removal tool could thread into the M8x1.0 leak pipe hole.

I too removed my turbo probably took 5 hours. Just had to get my hand in awkward places. This thing is filthy.
Now to decide where to send it. I’m in talks with Turbo Lab on the east coast

Edit: Turbolab doesn’t do ct26’s so I went ahead and dropped my turbo off at Driftmotion in Riverside.

Taking the turbo and injector in for rebuilds...
Heard back from DieselForward (formerly Central Motive Power) here in Denver regarding my turbo:
Waste gate actuator is fubar'ed which resulted in fubar'ed journal bearings, oil coking of the thrust collar and bearings, oil in compressor, etc.

I don't know what all of that means other than that it needs to be rebuilt. Unfortunately, since DieselForward has acquired CMP, they no longer do these rebuilds. Some executive-type upstairs apparently decided so. I'll be shipping it out tomorrow to a shop that can do the work.

All 4 injectors also need to be rebuilt. At least they can handle that here in Denver.

Looking forward to see how the ol' girl performs after all this is addressed.

Stay tuned for more of what I did to my 70 series since she'll be down for a bit and the Southwest 70s Social is looming...

If you haven’t chosen anything look into driftmotion. I just dropped my turbo off to them yesterday in Riverside Ca. Andrew the owner sounded really confident and they’re a pretty good company (from what I’ve heard) in the Supra scene. The rebuild is gonna run me about $500. They do shipping as well so I’d look into that.

Just picked up a ‘88BJ74 and I’m looking for an owners manual.

Can somebody post a link to one online?

1st RHD with 13BT and auto and PTO winch and these are new to me. Any help would be appreciated

5th Cruiser I’ve owned, but I’m clueless with this one...

Well, from the advice provided here:
Rebuild turbo on 13B-T?
I called and they no longer do CT26s. Reportedly can’t find reliable rebuild parts and they’re “not sure any shop will rebuild them anymore”.

Thanks. I’ll be calling when they open later today.

Jason: I have another option for you as well if the place above cannot assist you.
Haven’t called or sent it out yet so I’m all ears. Thanks

Turbo Diesel

They did every component on my 3B and they did some work on my friends 13B-T and they do a lot of the diesel rebuilds for ACC Garage in ATL.

You want to contact the Forest Park location and talk with Jon Burdette in the Turbo department.

John Carter would be your contact for IP’s and injectors.

They are a bit more expensive since they concentrate on the industrial side of things, but do very good work.

They do all of the diesel fleet maintenance for Delta Air Lines at the ATL hub operation.

That’s who I called this morning. They said they don’t do them anymore, although I didn’t ask for John as you recommended in the other thread.

That’s 2 reputable shops I’ve called, both stating they can’t get reliable rebuild parts. I’m also wondering if the Toyota tuner crowd beating on CT26s is causing these shops to get out of the game. DieselForward (formerly Central Motive Power) alluded to that...customers not following recommendations and bringing newly rebuilt turbos back within weeks or months for warranties rebuilds.

Have you considered an upgrade such as a Garrett Turbo? Rebuilding the IP and injectors isn't an issue.
