What did you break on your 100 this week?

Not sure how it happened, boots are 2-3 months old (OEM)... Hoping it was a freak hit on the trails. Will have it replace by Tuesday, more irritated with all the grease being slung all over the place.

This was a big FN hassle , local tire shop loaned my his special tool and saved my ass. I got one off with a under sized socket. The second one, no luck with that technique.

Kinda wanting to hear more about this. How did it happen? Is everyone ok?
Neck and back sprain and concussion. VERY, very lucky.

Did the hidden winch mount for without modification?
I think the mount may be listed as Diesel specific on their site.
I had to trim a tiny bit off the winch plate’s underside gussets, but that’s it. Oh, and the four bolts that replace the stock bumper guard have to go straight in, instead of angled slightly to each side, so the frame nurserts needed to be “re-aimed” slightly, but that’s not a big deal either.

By the way, I went with a TJM T17 since the hidden mount got bent to sh*t in that 5mph bump. And there’s nothing of substance behind the left & right sides of the bumper. It’s not a very robust design IMO. But it is a slick look.

Not mine but a mate's, let's just say it would have been smart to put on the snorkel you had lying around for half a year before you hit some deep water.

Engine is a 1HD-FTE. Engine turned off by key when he got in deep water and pulled him out. Took off intake hoses, airbox full of water.
Turned engine over by hand a few times to confirm it wasn't hydro locked. Then started the engine with intake hoses disconnected, blew out a lot of water.

Had fun (and a lot of white smoke) the rest of the day and pulled head and pistons the day after. Got lucky, replaced this piston, connecting rod, had cylinder head checked, rebuild turbo, rebuild injectors and she runs beautifully again.

That's very lucky

Lost the crumbling grommet into the PCV pipe opening today
That area is still isolated from the valve-train, so I don't think there is any harm caused by leaving it there.

Thought I would fluff n buff the fog lamp lenses. Insert spun, then sheared. Drilled housing, blew some snot into hole and inserted knurled allen head fastener. Good as new?

This didn't seem like it was going to be much of a problem, but after falling into the ruts and diffing out, the cab filled up pretty quick to just over the console / cup holders and before I knew it, no more accelerator. By the time we got it out, < 5mins, the transmission wasn't happy and we still had no accelerator though it idled fine. When we got it home we stripped everything out, hit the carpets with the pressure cleaner, and then laid everything out in the sun for a few days. Apart from the transmission becoming erratic, seemed not much else was amiss. Luckily insurance paid out, so we got the transmission replaced and the TC + diffs flushed, and some decent breathers fitted all around :)

We didn't replace any wiring but we did get in to replace that really hard to reach electrical / relay panel that's behind the fuse box in the passenger footwell (driver for US), for anyone that's done this before, you'll know how much of a pr!ck it is to get that out - the whole dash, AC, and intrusion bar has to come out!! That was late in 2017, since then the only gremlins we've encountered is the central locking randomly activating every so often and also the drivers window randomly closing every now and again.

Now of course, even though we feel better prepared, we are a bit more timid when entering deepish water ;)
