SSIA. Bonus points if you post a link on Amazon bc I hav some gift cards. 😂

I’ll hardwire it to my fuse block that is mounted under the DS kick panel. We are headed on a 6 hour road trip this weekend so I’d like to get something quick and prefer it to either be front/rear or front/inside.

Have been pretty happy with my 70Mai product from Amazon. I do no use the extra features, I just let it auto detect stuff.

DDPAI 4K

All good except that the monitoring feature shuts off for ‘low voltage’ at 12.4 volts. Didn’t do this when I ran the AGM battery, which has a higher base voltage. Probably fixed by now with a new firmware, I got this two years ago.

The smartphone app side works whenever I want it to, which is like once a year .

Someday I’ll get around to adding a rear camera, and will probably go with the same one.

I used their branded install kit. I like that the camera is completely behind the mirror and I can’t see it.

I lilke this one, it matches my trim and is offset like mine but even more so. Good find. I might get a matching set front + rear.
Currently I don't have rear either and when i checked the one i bought is only in sold in a silver color now instead of the grey i needed.

I use an 2ch Amazon product ASIN B08DV51H2X. It's not the fanciest or highest resolution, but an honest camera shooting front and back. I avoided a 4k camera as I prefer to get more recording time before it rolls over footage so I can go on longer trips without downloading.

Here's what the footage looks like:

There is only one. Garmin dashcam. Best there is. I got the 47.

VIOFO T130 3 Channel Dash Cam Uber, Built in WiFi and GPS, 1440P+1080P+1080P Three Way Triple Car Dash Camera, IR Night Vision, Supercapacitor, G-Sensor, 24 Hour Parking Mode, Support 256GB Max https://a.co/d/6HLU7Ff

Has good image quality.
The app is not great, but sufficient

My biggest gripe is that with all 3 cameras recording in parking mode trips the low voltage thing on the hardwire kit after 15-20 mins. The suggested solution is to run a battery pack for the dash cam while parked

This is what I have:

Escort-M2-Radar-Mounted-Smart-Dash-Cam-0010068-1-With-Detector-3.jpg

Escort 360c with the M2 camera. Mounted to the rear-view mirror with a BlendMount system. Unit is hard-wired to a 12V souce in the mirror base. Front view only, unfortunately. Also, because of the weight suspended under the mirror stalk, I get a bit of high-frequency mirror shake.

Wolfbox

One in front
One inside so I can look at my kids
One on the back

Extra on the back of my trailer

I can switch wiring to do back or trailer depending on if I’m towing.

And I am wiring up a switch so I can do trailer cam and then hit a button and see my rear cam on the OEM display via GROM VLine so I can keep an eye on the tongue of the trailer.

Thanks. Trying to decide if I need the interior or rear camera option or just front….or all 3. 4K vs 1080p. Prefer it to have an app and no screen.

I use the Nextbase dashcam. Mostly because it can use its own battery for parking mode (instead of drawing the car's 12V).

Recently been thinking of getting this adapter to draw power from the mirror. Seems like a good way to tidy up some cables. (I wonder if it will work with the LC):

wolf box is the screen on your rear view mirror type

In my opinion these are great. And you can shut it off and use it as a standard rear view mirror too.

The wolfbox is the strap on type which annoyed me but it's fine

There are some complete replacement rear view mirrors with screens that are cool and I messed with one but it was an entire android OS with WiFi in an rearview mirror and was too complicated. Who needs to watch netflix on thier rearview mirror LOL

Interior cam is great as I can peek at my kids quickly without taking my eyes off the road.
And I don't miss some of the cute moments that only happen on long road trips with kids all crammed together.

I tried a strap on screen, and the weight was such that it just won't work for me off-road. Too much leverage on the stock mount that it was shifting.

Still curious however. Does the wolfbox have remote wireless cameras? To put on the back of a travel trailer for example?

Since most rear-end collision is not your fault……….I concentrate only on the front. I really don’t need more evidence about what I am doing (via interior/driver cam) if i crash.
