What color for steel wheels?

I think the key here is prep work. If you want them to look really good do it right. If you can find a similar deal to blast 5 wheels for $40 jump on that and save yourself the headache of prep work. I used 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of finish with no clear coat. Not super chip resistant like powder coating but very easy to touch up.

If you have lots of cash I'd say powder coat. But for every dollar I spend on stuff like that I think of what else I could do with the cruiser....

Good luck.

Prep Work....This just reminded me of when I got the tins on my VW Beetle powdercoated and was promised they'd be prepped "properly".....Needless to say the prep work was shoddy and I ended up getting new tins and having it done again......

So, regardless of whether its paint or PC , let prep be the next concern.....whether you do it or they do it....

Grey! I was quoted $35 per wheel for sandblasting and powdercoating locally. Will probably have it done next summer.
