Long time lurker here and have been very grateful of many of the informative posts. Currently have a 200, 100 and FJ and had a crusty 80 in the past. So I'm not new to to land cruisers but this if my first 60... and first toyota Carbed engine. 1984 Manual in faded blue
She is a little crusty but will make a fun play rig for now.
It has been desmogged. Some of the items are removed, smog pump is gone with just a pulley there now. What I'm wanting to do is remove more of the items, capped off hoses ect to clean up the engine bay a bit. I will be removing the headlight washer tank and anything else that I can. On the 2 pictures below can someone identify the 3 items.
Item 1 I don't see in any other pictures of 2f engines. It has a wire harness going in the back and a cover with some switches inside.
Item 2 i see most still have. I believe this is the Charcoal canister for the fuel tank correct? Can I cap it and remove it?
Item 3 on the drivers side appears to be a fan unit... but it is unplugged. What is this fan for?
Is there anything else I can remove? On a properly/fully desmogged engine how many hoses should remain? This I can likely figure out with reading the desmog chronicles... but if someone knows off the top of their head "6 to the carb and the rest are plugged" I'll take that
Truck seems to run ok... could use some carb love for sure.
Thanks all
